Are you done shopping? Has your stress level reached Mach 3? Have you practiced your speech asking Aunt Patty to please not pinch your cheeks, you're a grown up and deserve to be respected as such? What's the plans?

I finished shopping last night, now I just have to wrap everything. We've got the pheasant in the fridge, creme brulee makings ready to go and blow torch filled. I've got the cookies we're making for Santa ready for mixing and baking and a 3 yr old flipping out that it's not Christmas yet. I've got NORAD bookmarked, to use as a way to get my kid to bed by 9pm. We have our guests over tomorrow and then unplug the phone and hunker down for Christmas day in our pjs.

Everyone else ready?

Going out today to finish up the last of my shopping, then tomorrow it's off to make the round - first hubby's family, then drive to my family where we'll spend the night. I have Monday and Tuesday off next week, so that's when I'll rest up. Smiley: grin

I was going to get that business card holder for my mother that she wanted.

On a completely unrelated side note, my mom's birthday was yesterday. Guess what my sister got her?

Shopping is done, just need to pick up two things on the way home. I wrapped for 2.5 hours yesterday Smiley: banghead The house is all decked out for the holidays, even though we are spending it at my folks house.

Unfortunatly the GF is really sick. She has been off for two days now and is all hoped up on meds but is still under the weather. We can not visit her parents because her father just recieved a bone marrow transplant (leukemia) and a cold/flu can kill him. Spirits are not at the usual for me and the Mrs. Not being able to see her parents for a week really sucks. Our thoughts are always with him and really doesn't leave a lot of room for Holiday cheer.

We are trying ou best to enjoy Christmas, it just doesn't seem right. Smiley: frown

Shopping has been done for 2 weeks, just need to wrap 3-4 more gifts. Also need to finish the stained-glass panel I'm making for a family member. I'll be up until 3 am doing that, I'm sure...

I need to buy some wine and chocolates for Christmas day but the main presents are all bought, if not yet wrapped.

My aunt is hosting this year with her boyfriend. It should be a lovely time and I am really looking forward to it Smiley: smile She does not own a TV so this should be a very good Christmas.

Does anyone else find that TV ruins Christmas? Everyone just stops talking, flops by the TV and watches the drivel that is on during the day (or a new dvd). Christmas should be about family not a box you can watch any time all year and alone.

My aunt has many fun board games and I bought a new one for us to try this year. I have so many memories of trivial pursuit over the years. They have become blurred over time, especially since age 18 when I could drink alchohol Smiley: grin

Kids presents are all bought, mostly wrapped. Santa dropped off his presents early and of course asked my wife and I to wrap them for him since he has a really busy schedule this year. I have the wife's gifts here at the office so I can wrap them and surprise her. I like her to think I didn't buy anything for her until the last minute.

seeing as we dont really watch tv at home it hasnt been an issue. But I must say I love the Comcast Sounds of the seasons channel. It's all Christmas music without having to buy cds. We will watch "A Year without Santa Claus" though. Family tradition and all

The TV is usually on at my parent's house, but no one really watches it. We talk, play games, eat and other holiday-ish stuff.

I had the bulk of my shopping done in November but kept remembering people I forgot to shop for every week. I finally finished shopping for my last person yesterday (my boss) and still have to wrap presents that my sister in law says will get here by Christmas, but I doubt it will. And they're unwrapped too! So that means I have to do more wrapping still, argh!!

I'm ready. I need to swing by the jeweler's and pick up some things that are being sized, buy a tie for a Secret Santa exchange, and roll out the cookie dough that I put in the fridge last night. I found out we had tiny cookie cutters in the shapes of gingerbread men, stars, bells and such so I'm thrilled that I can start my nephews off on the path of being duped by the Santa thing the right way.

Every year my wife's family watches Smokey Mountain Christmas. Every... freaking... year. I've only seen it twice.

At least know they own it on DVD (yea, I know) and I don't have to watch the 20 year old burgerking commercials and such. They make the freaking horrible experience longer.

At least Dolly Parton has big yams.

*whew*

But we don't watch much tv on the actuall Christmas day... taht'll be spent with my family, the grandparents, and the rest of the crew. A first for my wife.

I finished most of the shopping for her (minus a few stocking stuffers heh, heh) and the list reads like a infomercial, but hell, she wanted what I got her...

Good luck all.

We laid out presents last night and we saw that the pile for our oldest one doesn't have as many presents as the younger two. So I need to buy more presents to even up the score.

Then in an attempt to wrap them to find out I haven't bought any wrapping paper yet. Smiley: banghead

Still need to finish up the food shopping for the Christmas dinner. And I need to clean up the house, but that's hard with the kids running around making a mess behind me. And I need to finish Christmas shopping for my husband. I may take up DSD's advice and get gift certificates and tie them to a Christmas bush for him.

Hopefully, I'll be done by this afternoon. I'm out the door now to brave the crowds. The clock is ticking!

We've been using NORAD for years to get nieces/nephews and now our son into bed quick. On Christmas eve they have radar tracking Santa from city to city all over the world and allows you to see how soon he should be hitting "your area". It's worked everytime to get the kids hopping into bed so they can be asleep or Santa wont come.

They have some cool audio clips as well of the airforce and other pilots who have seen him as they're flying. It's very cool

I've gotten all my shopping done for the most part. I love it when I am sent terrible tasting wine and I can make it look nice and put it in my fancy looking wine holder. My family always watches "A Christmas Story" every christmas. I've almost gotten it down what Ralphy wants for christmas.

Gave my sister £50 and told her to buy 4 presents. That's how real men do their christmas shopping.

I bought the GF Madagascar and it comes with a bonus Penguins Christmas movie, hopefully that will make a nice Holiday Movie Tradition.

Watched Christmas Vacation yesterday. Never gets old. Smiley: lol

I had all but one gift bought BEFORE Thanksgiving. I ******* hate the malls. Still have a few stocking stuffers to give to my goddaughter's mother before tomorrow though.

Today is my dad's birthday. I talked him out of going to The Cheesecake Factory for his birthday dinner tonight. I pointed out that it was located at the mall, and going to the mall the friday night before Christmas in just ******* insane.

I feel sorry for anyone who's birthday is so close to Christmas. As a kid he only got one gift and they would tell him. "This will be for both Christmas and your birthday." I alway make a point to get him seperate gifts.

my grandmothers is on the 28th and she still bitches about it at the ripe age of 76. She made me understand at an early age I was never to have kids born near the holidays for fear of making them as depressed as she

My daughters birthday is the 20th. As is my mother's second husband, along with their anniversary. Luckily I was out of the house by the time he came into the picture and am not in the "required to buy gift" loop.

Shopping isn't near done. We have been on hard times as far as cash goes for a few weeks due to the car dying on us, so now we are awaiting the last check before christmas to show up.

My GF works nights as a nurse, so she is asleep, but before she went to bed I got a severe warning "keep and eye out for the mailman, check the mail at 3, 4 and 5, wake me when it gets here" So now I am on postman watch duty. Tomorrow is gonna SUCK.
