The presents I ordered online probably won't be arriving in time for Christmas. They may show up Christmas eve, which I'm keeping my fingers crossed for, but they may not. I am unhappy.

Now, while it could be argued that perhaps I should have ordered them earlier, I did order them by the "order by this date for Christmas delivery" deadline. When they hadn't shipped as of yesterday, I wrote to the company and asked if they would still be shipping them standard (3-5 day) delivery of if they would be bumping it up to 2-day or overnight. They sent them standard. If they don't arrive in time, I will be writing to them alot more.

I also have to do a bunch of last minute shopping tomorrow night, which will not be fun. Stupid Christmas.

I hate Christmas.

Luckily I am not making it down to the families until new years so that is when I am going shopping. I have to get the girlfriend her gift on Christmas eve though. Expect me to be surly that day.

We might be having the same issues with some of our online gifts (the frikkin' keyboard for my wife's new pc is on backorder...grrrr x 10000) and while the last shipped order we sent to her mother arrived, the first few have yet to arrive.

Still, all in all, we'd do it again to avoid the nightmare that is holiday mall shopping.

My mother finally got around to telling me something she wanted, a silver plated business card holder from Marshall Field's. Note the $119.00 price tag on that puppy. WTF? That better come with the Pope's personal business card for that kind of scratch.

This is actually the first year that I have all my gifts before hand. I hate malls and feel they are proof the devil exists and is invloved in Christmas. I did not order anything online though. Hope all your gifts get to you by Christmas Eve.

normally I do the same thing, buying from online instead of shopping. I hate shopping with a passion. But for some reason I had this insane idea to go out and brave the stores this year. I dont know what got into me, but I did a shopping spree a few weeks back and got most of my shopping done then. I have to go out tonight and finish the little fillers. Im exhausted, and I dont want to, but I have to.

Nexa, the way I look at it is that while Christmas may be a holiday, its also just a day. You can make any day Christmas. Its the thought that counts behind the presents, not the presents themselves. Im sure your hhusband will understand and Hannah is too young to get it. Anyone else can GFT

Finished all my shopping a few weeks back. gonna go home and bake cookies for the neice and nephew today. I've been very "Bah humbug" this entire season (working part-time at a mall doesn't help), but having wee ones underfoot helps me remember what it's all about.

I've always loved Christmas. I'm glad I got this feeling back.

I'm really nervous about ordering online after last year. Ordered close to a hundred bucks worth of stuff off of the Mini site. It was shipped Fed-Ex and apparently the couple weeks before Christmas they don't make people sign for items.

It was supposedly dropped off at our house but we never saw it. I had to file a complaint with Fed-Ex which took forever and no one ever seemed to know anything about. Finally over a month later Fed-Ex told me they settle with Mini and not me.

This was followed with calls to Mini who had to determine that they did indeed settle with Fed-Ex, and then asked me the incredibly stupid question "So do you want this shipped to you again?" Sadly almost 2 months after christmas my husband finally got his present.

This is the first Christmas that I've ever been "Bah Humbug". Even having my son get excited about it isn't helping. Hopefully next year will be better.

The stuff I ordered isn't for my husband and it's not for Hannah, it's for my parents so that they'll leave me alone for a few months, haha. It's all photo stuff, that's why I ordered it so late. I wanted the most up-to-date photos of the baby to use as possible. They grow so fast at this age.

meep.

There's a chance the weather will be too ****** to drive down there on Christmas anyway, who knows. I do know this: A week from now I will be 6 hours into a 19 hour trip with an 8 month old.

Good lord, I'm a grouch. Let's all have a ******* pity-party for me eh? Someone tell me I need to get laid or something.

I have no time for any of the above! Hell, I've had to pee for like 2 hours and I've been too busy to walk down the hall to the bathroom. Smiley: cry

Sure, I could be doing that instead of posting, but who would really want that?!

GFY

The mixure of being broke and having to use public transportation, has me trying to knit hats and mittens as gifts for my 2 grandchildren.

I have one Daugther to figure out a gift for in the next 3 days. My siblings are going to have to do with just a card and wishes for a Happy New Year.

Last year I made some Christmas oraments 2 days before and did personalized gift cards for each of my family and Jonwin's Sister and sister-in-laws. His brothers lucked out as my muse ran off before I could make enough gifts for them too.

Add the fact that Jonwin would like to spend sometime with me playing EQ, I am too busy to think of christmas shopping.

I used to make alot of scarves and hats and whatnot as gifts for Christmas, until I got tendonitis and was told not to anymore.

Thank you EQ tradeskills. Just because you *can* get over 100 in pottery in an hour doesn't mean you *should*.

Well if it makes you feel any better I am in the same boat and will be hitting the stores tonight. By the way ladies:

Is not a valid response to: "What do you want for Christmas this year dear?" Many of us men are task driven, we struggle with the abstract. Tell me you want the moon, at least then I can formulate a plan, a process, and begin taking steps to accomplish a clear cut goal, instead of standing petrified in the middle of the mall, jaw agape like a lost monkey.

I suggest keeping an Amazon.com wishlist. I love those damn things. Plus, it's nice to window shop without the crowds.

Hush you. I want to be able to use that as my answer to the same question.

As for what the ladyfriend wants, it typically involves something from the 1B column of the periodic table and the corundum family of minerals.

Or carbon. Yikes!

I have been reluctant to order Christmas over the internet for the various reasons stated here. Plus the fact I am usually a somewhat last minute shopper. I've gotten better. I use to wait a few days before Christmas. Now it's usually a couple of weeks.

Neither myself or hubby were in the Christmas mood this year and I took the lame way out and got just about everyone gift cards from various stores. Save the niece. I went overboard with her, but hell it's her first Christmas and after all that's what Christmas is all about. Unfortunately I won't be able to spend it with her or my Sis and Brother inlaw this year as they are headed off to the Land of Enchantment to spend it with my mom this year. I guess that's why I am not really in the mood. We didn't even put up our tree.
