I know it keeps you up at night. Your every waking moment is spent with that same question, that constant pondering that eats away at your soul: will my ipod survive being washed and dried. Let your unforgiving contemplation be silenced forever. The resounding answer to that question is: not in a million years.
But, you will not be left without some wondrous gifts from the passing of the ipod. All of your clothes will have a lovely melted plastic smell. Your ipod headphone, should they have gone on the journey with the 'pod, will be a congealed ball of polymers, one of which rivals the twisted mass of a Rorschach test.
A new question may also form, such as 'Where did the USB connector cover go?'. Did it completely vaporize in the heat of the dryer, or did it fall prey to the same goblins and gnomes that steal your socks.
You can also gaze at the marvel that is the remains of your once
beloved 'pod. The dazzle of beholding the nice smoothed, warped
surfaces, the splendour of the 'on' switch that is now shaped like a peanut, or, and this is the pinnacle, the obstinate way that all the control buttons seem to unaffected, perhaps even cleaner.
But please, while enjoying your new found freedom from that question which, up until this point, had plagued you, have a moment of silence for those who have gone before you.
