Found this interesting About article. A nice introduction to the most puzzling artifacts found on Earth

Linky

Found this one quite interesting:

Quote:
The Dropa Stones
In 1938, an archeological expedition led by Dr. Chi Pu Tei into the Baian-Kara-Ula mountains of China made an astonishing discovery in some caves that had apparently been occupied by some ancient culture. Buried in the dust of ages on the cave floor were hundreds of stone disks. Measuring about nine inches in diameter, each had a circle cut into the center and was etched with a spiral groove, making it look for all the world like some ancient phonograph record some 10,000 to 12,000 years old. The spiral groove, it turns out, is actually composed of tiny hieroglyphics that tell the incredible story of spaceships from some distant world that crash-landed in the mountains. The ships were piloted by people who called themselves the Dropa, and the remains of whose descendents, possibly, were found in the cave.

I used to read about that kind of stuff alot, and it always makes me think about the Dragonriders of Pern series by McCaffery (I'm such a geek). They lived on a planet for a long time and their culture forgot that they had originally come from another planet on a spaceship and they lost all the technology and whatnot. Neat stuff.

Maybe if they look harder, they will find a 10,000 year old space ship in there somewhere.

Maybe that's what some of the metal is from or something, who knows!? Maybe that battery is from a teeny tiny spaceship, like this one!

God Bless you Jessica Tandy.

In Belize, archaeologists dug up a pyramid (lots there, smaller than the ones in Mexico and Peru). There they dicovered a small crystal carving in the shape of a human skull with a movable lower jaw.

Thing is, there were no tool marks on the artifact whatsoever. Nor did it fully resemble the skulls of the Mayans who lived in Belize when the pyramid was built.

Interesting stuff, indeed.

Well the metal "tool" encased in 500,000 year old rock was de-bunked

Quote:
The Coso Artifact was indeed a remarkable device. It was a 1920s-era Champion spark plug that likely powered a Ford Model T or Model A engine, modified to possibly serve mining operations in the Coso mountain range of California. To suggest that it was a device belonging to an advanced ancient civilization of the past could be interpreted as true, but is an exaggeration of several thousand years.

Interesting article to how and why it was debunked Here

Putting all the stories aside regarding us coming from an alien planet, there is hordes of evidence that point to the collapse of an ancient human civilization here on earth. I'm thinking history will repeat itself, and all of today's technology will be lost again, and we will start all over again, leaving clues for some distant future civilization to find and ponder.

I love that movie!

As for the OP, nothing surprises me much anymore. I almost think it would be really cool to find out we came from another planet, tried to hold on to some of the old technology, but it was lost, and now we're trying to regain what we once knew.
