But this one is pretty cool

Nice catch. That guys gotta be feeling pretty good about himself right now. I guess he made a tv appearance too.

He'll be getting laid for months...

Damn you Kakar!!! I was just going to post that!

After reading it, what you would do in that situation? Would you toss your 1 month old out of the window, or jump out yourself hoping to shield the babies fall. A person can easily survive a three story fall, as long as the ground is somewhat cushioned.

In this case it looked like it was a sidewalk below, so it might not have applied here.

And why didn't this aparment have a fire escape?

Smart baby.

I saw that on Fark, their response was that he was penalized for excessive celebration after the catch.

I was so expecting them to photoshop the pic and have him spiking the baby, but it didn't happen. /sigh

Did make ya feel all warm and fuzzy inside though, same with the story of the pregnant skydiver.

I can't find it now, but I read somewhere that 50% of falls of 20 feet or more are fatal. I always thought it seemed a bit high, but the number stuck with me. Unfortunately I'm having no luck finding the study.

I've survived falls up to 16 -17 feet with no ill effects.

A woman just survived a fall from an airplane with only half parachute.

Your number might be valid. I don't know. It seems to be that three stories could be survived.

I would jump out - no question.

It probably does, but you have to pay extra for it.

Quick question genius, your child is not breathing, you can save its life by dropping it out the window or take a couple mins to tie sheets together, lower your child out only to not be able to recussitate it. What do you do?

Was it the best idea in the world? No, but it worked and both are alive, i'm just happy it worked out well.
#11REDACTED, Posted: Dec 15 2005 at 11:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm sorry tossing your baby out a 3 story window is just plain wrong. And don't give me this couple of minutes crap because we both know it'd take less than a minute to rig that up.

Maybe, but I would wager that the mother wasn't thinking too clearly, and went on instinct alone. That instinct was probably just "save the baby any way possible."

I'm betting that if she'd been white, virus would be applauding her courage at taking such a risk, indeed at the risk of her own life.

Ever been in a house fire? Good luck FINDING bed sheets or whatever, much less staying conscious long enough to "rig a harness", like she'd have any idea how to start.

A friend of mine from college died after jumping from a balcony on the second floor of a house. It could not have been more than 12 feet. He struck his head on the driveway.

Add "house fire" to the endless list of things virus has done, seen and experienced.
