Reading Fark I stumbled upon this and its corresponding fark topic thread. I have to state that I hate messing/customizing browsers. In fact I detest it and usually just use it the way it comes.

So I decided to fiddle with extensions and did the following:

Dictionary ToolTip - Double click any word and a tiny box pops up with its definition. Nifty.

FoxyTunes - A very aesthetically pleasing and easy to use control bar at the bottom of firefox that allows you to play with music from your media player of choice without leaving your internet browser. Totally amazing.

Gmail Manager: Lets me know if I get an email and I can just click on it and it will take me to inbox. Totally easy and functional.

Forecastfox: Once again another eye pleasing easy to use function that allows you to see the local forecast with updates as well as the next two days of weather.

All together they made Firefox even more ******** Any other suggestions as to what I should check out?

You should get the IE view also, since there are still a few pages out there that refuse to cooperate with FF.

few more i would sujest:

1. Adblock

2. NoScript

3. IE View, as stated above

all are great.

Adblock creates a black list of URLs pictures, etc. so they never show up when browsing, thus speeding things up.

NoScript creates a white list. it blocks all java and other types of scripts as a default. you can then tell it what domains you trust to run scripts on their site.

IE view, just cleans up some of the bad code on the internet and helps those bad sites appear better when using FF.

welcome to the light of day that can be a better safer internet.

IE view? I just hoped on the FF bandwagon with the Joph's name blinking brigade. What does IE view do?

For now, all I use is TMobile Miniutes (tells me my minutes....fricken sweet), Adblock, and Forecast.

You can right click on any page you're viewing and there's an option to view the page in IE. Works for a lot of sites that have been specifically coded for IE.

Oh...nifty. I'm going to have to get that one.

I'm still all jitery with my minutes at the bottom of my browser, though. Smiley: yippee

The Nois 2.0 Extreme theme makes the interface look a bit less bland. Also, Adblock works wonders on ogame ads. NoScript seems very popular in eliminating malicious JS threats too.

That's my Smiley: twocents.

There is one that allows you to use mouse movements to do certain commands in case you are to lazy to put mouse over refresh button or back/forward page etc.

Sounds nifty but also could be a pain in the ***.

A 5-button mouse works fine for that anyway.

I like the search engines you can add.

the All-in-one gestures is great if you came from Opera browser. it is a default setting for that browsers.

right click and fast drag left = navigate back 1 page
right click and fast drag right = navigate forward 1 page
right click and fast drag up = open new tab
right click and fast drag down = minimize the current tab

for me i love that extention, just dont know many others who like that. as much forum browsing and research i do for learning linux stuff it is very handy.

I just installed StumbleUpon 2.2

StumbleUpon lets you "channelsurf" the best-reviewed sites on the web. It is a collaborative surfing tool for browsing, reviewing and sharing great sites with like-minded people. This helps you find interesting webpages you wouldn't think to search for.

I haven't had so much fun surfing since the early 90's when I first discovered the internet.
