Flipping through On Demand from Comcast and I just noticed that they have "Dating on Demand". They're adds of people looking for love. now you dont need to use the net, or ads, or date.com. You just make a video and have everyone in the country who has Comcast see you make a fool of yourself.

I had fun laughing at it. But do you think this is the next way to find love? Or do these people use it as their 15 minutes of fame, shouting to the world they need a dating service to find someone to date?

Would you use it? Or would you date someone you found from here?

Wasn't video dating what people did before online dating? And as far as meeting someone on the net, I think there's a difference between going out of your way to find someone and dating someone you met online.

I think.

VINCENT: How did Marsellus and her meet?
JULES: I dunno, however people meet people.

I'm not sure the medium is quite as important as the simple fact that you met.

yeah, but for every 1 successful couple from it will be 20 frivilous horn-balls getting each other deaseased and knocked up, only to have it end in some sociopathic episode.

just like bars, only without the drinks.

Could be.

I've known a few people who used personals, internet dating services, singles organizations, etc. Not a one found their partner via that method. But, I think each person's situation started to change at that point as they were getting in some dating and social experience. More importantly, they were making a conscious decision to get into the game. Which is a better mental state than sitting at home, bemoaning your lack of companionship and saying you’d never join a service or place an ad because they’re just stupid.

Or, you could be a single mom who started going to local chat rooms because you weren't able to go out much, just to have some "adult" conversation, and the local chat room clown might just appeal to you on some level.

At least, I've heard of stuff like that happening.

There was a DJ in San Diego that used to do a program called "Weekend Hook Up" where singles would call in and it would be a mini "The Bachelor" show. Single people would call in and say they want a date and other people would call in to be screened and you'd get set up on a blind date. Then you would call in and say how the date went. And 9 times out of 10, the stories were blind dates from hell, but a lot of these people wanted to get set up again! They never learned...
