Alan Turning allows you to access the intarwebs. Your precious posting power is balanced on the shaky foundation of *********

Quote:
Leviticus 18:22 states the principle: "You [masculine] shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination."

I like this quote... further, I love how pissed off the billboard over I-26(West) makes people because it has this quote on it.

You, achileez are obviously a ******************* (no call-backs) except that I feel calling you that will offend homosexuals the world over.

Now, I don't like the idea and practicies of homosexuality. I find the practice moraly reprhensible. More disgusting than I find the fetish of, say, water sports. I view the act as a sin, yes. I do not like the idea. That is as far as it goes... will they go to heaven or hell or somthing? Not my place to judge. Does it make them a bad person in my eyes? No. There are plenty of other things for people to do to cause that.

In short, achileez, stop hating yourself for liking the cornholing you get from the janitor.

So how do you determine which parts of bible are for you? Or do you just use the magic eight ball when confused?

The same thing can be applied to you. How do you choose which sins are for you or not? How about as pre-marital sex? I see in an other thread you claim to have a couple women on the side. How about drinking Mr. Jack and Coke man? Do you just use a magic eight ball?

I'm leaning back toward the idea that Smash = Varus, and he posts on either account depending on which end of the bipolar spectrum he happens to be at.

The point is we don't get to choose. They are what they are regardless of how we act. By the same token this doesn't mean we have to accept and condone a sin because we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. But I would be remiss in my duties as a Christian to not try and help those who are sinning; as I would hope others would do the same for me. If you'll recall Jesus taught the lowest of the low in society from hookers to tax collectors.

As for my couple of girlfriends I've yet to see a passage that condemns having relations with more than one woman as long as they aren't married and they know I'm dating other people. You know you can get away with letting women you're dating other women as long as you're as smooth, intelligence, and wealthy as I. And even Jesus drank wine; but bible is explicit in it's condemnation of excessive drinking.

So then which denominiation is correct? Nazarines aren't allowed to drink at all. Pre-marital sex is never acceptable from what I can remember, regardless if you're pimp with the ladies or not. Unless your telling me you're still a virgin. What makes your sin any less signifigant then homosexuality? Everyone takes what they want out of religion to fit the lifestyle they choose. Your point if bullsh[/b]it.

"Getting away with it" doesn't make it moral; the fact that you're cognizant of the need to "get away with it" denotes that you know, in fact, that it is immoral.

But that doesn't matter to you, because you think you're a special case.

I wonder if you're a sociopath, seriously. Do you ever feel guilt or remorse about anything? Have you ever? Do you know what it even means to care about another person? I'm just curious.

You still haven't addressed pre-marital sex. I could care less if you’re banging ten women instead of one. You're as dirty as a homosexual in God's eye. After all, premarital sex cause children out of wedlock, and is a strain on society and the glue that holds it together. This isn’t to mention all the diseases it causes too.

Which ever religion brings me closer to god? How the hell does one do that? Your whole suggestion would imply that one alters religion to fit their lifestyle/beliefs. Which one is correct? Which bible for that matter? Whose beliefs are wrong/write? If I choose wrong will I still go to hell?

Socrates was into men. It isn't controversial, really. Were I taught otherwise, I'd ask for my money back :)

plato, the symposium wrote:

You are sober, Alcibiades, said Socrates, or you would never have gone so far about to hide the purpose of your satyr's praises, for all this long story is only an ingenious circumlocution, of which the point comes in by the way at the end; you want to get up a quarrel between me and Agathon, and your notion-is that I ought to love you and nobody else, and that you and you only ought to love Agathon. But the plot of this Satyric or Silenic drama has been detected, and you must not allow him, Agathon, to set us at variance. I believe you are right, said Agathon, and I am disposed to think that his intention in placing himself between you and me was only to divide us; but he shall gain nothing by that move; for I will go and lie on the couch next to you. Yes, yes, replied Socrates, by all means come here and lie on the couch below me. Alas, said Alcibiades, how I am fooled by this man; he is determined to get the better of me at every turn. I do beseech you, allow Agathon to lie between us. Certainly not, said Socrates, as you praised me, and I in turn ought to praise my neighbour on the right, he will be out of order in praising me again when he ought rather to be praised by me, and I must entreat you to consent to this, and not be jealous, for I have a great desire to praise the youth. Hurrah! cried Agathon, I will rise instantly, that I may be praised by Socrates.

You can read the whole thing yourself at:

http://evans-experientialism.freewebspace.com/plato_symposium02.htm

Socrates, Alcibiades and Agathon are all men. The greek for love in this passsage is "eros", not agape, nomo or philia, used elsewhere. Eros is the erotic form of love...

Isn't it common knowledge that pretty much everyone was bi-sexual in ancient Greece? or that it wasn't a taboo like it is now?
