Supermarket product placement hurts my headFollow

It is just not fair.

I shop, I buy Christmas presents, stock up on fresh good, I avoid the sweets and chocolate (so hard) and I approach the checkout.

I have a weakness and that weakness is baileys. I adore it. Liquid silk in a glass Smiley: inlove

I am trying so hard to keep to my diet and try not looking at the chocolate at the counters. My eyes keep forward to the till when I see to my side a new product with large signs ..

Mint flavour baileys.

A bottle leapt into my trolley as if by magic. Totally unfair to place such temptation near me Smiley: frown

Today I wake with a slightly sore head from mint baileys and I know its no longer safe for me to shop at Tescos.

Bleh supermarkets and product placement, us poor weak willed chocoholics have a hard enough time without mint baileys at checkouts. Smiley: tongue

Godiva does have a chocolate liquor. It is pretty good too.

My weakness is fresh baked french bread. If they have that rack of still hot from the oven bread anywear near the checkstand, I'm leaving the store with 2 loaves. One will be half gone by the time I get home.

Hmmm I think I will have to go buy me some Bailey's. My mom just made her batch of khalua that she does every year about this time. Bailey's and khalua mix well. Maybe I'll buy some Grand Marnier too and make B-52s.

At least you can get alcohol at the supermarket. Here in the big, bad bible belt, that's a big no-no.

But that sounds pretty good. I haven't had Bailey's in a long time.

This time of year, I adore curling up on a cold evening with a cup of hot chocolate and baileys. I bet it would be great with the mint baileys too.

Oooh..bailey's. It has been really really cold here lately (like -25 windchill) and I have been having daily coffee with bailey's and whipped cream on top with more bailey's. I am addicted as well. Hey, look at the bright side, you could be having it with whipped cream...

Bleh. Always hated chocolate-flavored liquors. I want my liquor to taste like alcohol, and my hot chocolate like it was just made by Mexicans.

And just what the hell is liquor doing at the checkout?

You know, when I was little my dad had these blocks of chocolate for making hot chocolate that had very coarse sugar throughout. All I can recall about the box was that it was yellow. Anyway, he would put it in a blender with warm milk and make the hot chocolate out of it, and it was the best I have ever had. He said it was Mexican hot chocolate...I really don't know, I only know that I would love to find it again.

Yes! Yummmmmm. I am going to have to buy some, and I hope it is as good as I remember from my childhood, heh.

I have been drinking this for the past couple weeks pretty decent stuff.

My Holiday Drink of choice:

12oz Egg Nog
1 shot of Makers Mark (why I don't know)
1 shot of Dooleys's
1 oz of Coffee-Mate Peppermint Mocha Creamer.

Sounds gnarly but its wicked good Smiley: tongue
