The holiday seasonFollow

#1 Dec 10 2005 at 6:10 PM Rating: Decent

What's your favorite part of the holiday season? Is it the labouring of putting up chirstmas lights only to be out done by your neighbour? Heh, is it the music? Maybe its the unwrapping of gifts or the sweet smell of gingerbread cookies in the morning. I bet for one person its the Charlie Brown Christmas movie.

For me, its most definitly the food. From cookies to cake, turkey to chinese food, for the entire holiday season I can safely say that I am full.

Dressing up in women's clothes and going christmas shopping at the mall, I just love the festive displays at the food court.

I always love the way a Christmas Tree makes one's house smell.

Me too, but it's not just the food; it's the one time of year I eat what I want without feeling guilty about it.

Easily the music.

The Allelujah Choir, John Denver and the Muppets, Do You Hear What I Hear, Silver Bells, The Transiberian Orchestra, songs that everyone knows the words to, Bing and Bowie, Andy Williams, Up On the Rooftop, my kids Christmas Concert, We Three Kings, The Three Tenors,.....

I think Christmas has inspired more great music than anything else...ever.

Getting together with my siblings.

And I'm excited to welcome the lengthening days that follow solstice. Yay!

I'm a music fan as well. This year I've discovered a new song, The Carpenter's "Christmas Waltz". I had never heard it before, and it led me to all sorts of good Carpenters renditions of Christmas tunes. I also love Christmas Eve, at home in a warm house with everyone I love in one place, the tradition and closeness.

Seeing my aon wake up in the morning wild eyed and full of amazement that Santa actually came to his house. Watching my son zoom his toys around the house in his feety PJs after being suffocated by thank you kisses. And then kicking up a fire in the fireplace, throwing the wrapping in while sipping a cup of cocoa.
