I've been converted.

I've been playing WoW since September now with a friend of mine (Druid + Shammy = fun instances).

I'll probably be making an alliance alt (since I haven't played alliance yet).

Can I join in?

Sure thing, hop on and we'll hook ya up! If you plan on joining tonight, contact Moereese or Snorre (my alt) - Moe will be on for like 3 hours, I'll only be on for about another 15 minutes or so.

Would lurking here for one or two years be acceptable criteria to gain membership? Many of you have performed admirably in your daily task of helping me slide through another tedious evening of my employment. I would think the enhancement to my gaming experience would be even greater than that of my workday as I would have even more opportunities to bathe in the sublime wit so many of you exhibit. If not, I certainly understand, and would just have to go back to admiring your musings from afar again, like the nieghboorhood sex offender you sometimes catch in the bushes outside your daughter's bedroom, admiring away. Perhaps into a tissue, perhaps not.

In as much seriousness as one can muster after making statements such as those I have made, I would be compelled to roll a new toon on SC if lurkers are permitted. Otherwise I may form a horde guild on SC, "Lurking in the Aslum" sort of has a nice ring to it.

In case I wasn't clear in the first two paragraphs I'm suffering from a lack of guild on my other servers and would really just like a fresh start and some good conversation while I wage war on all experience yielding beings in th world of warcraft.

Thank you for you consideration.

With a name like Barkingturtle and great post as that, how could we NOT have you in? Lurkers are certainly welcome - only condition - post more often on the Asylum now that you've de-lurked.

There's no going back now.

Look for Moereese or my alt, Snorre. (read previous post).

Outstanding. The behemoth that allows me to feed and shelter myself and my cat remains planted suffocatingly on my chest for another hour, but I will be rolling anew when I get home and will look for one of you.

Maybe we should call our horde guild <Bedlam Voyeurs>.

well...it *is* nearly Christmas...maybe you could get it?

Although, that would be bad if you're trying to avoid mmorgs.

The best thing about the guild isnt loggin on and getting to play with Moe or Smoggy or any of the others that are playing and having fun together.

No the true appeal is the complete abscence of Nadenu. Much better than the whole Povar/Aude Saepere EQ thing (which included Nadenu) and remarkably better organized. Also its nice to see dyed in the wool eq people who were dead set against WoW start playing and are kicking themselves for holding off so long.

As this thread is starting to get unwieldy, Nexa set us up here - Asylumites Message Board

Thanks Nexa - How were you able to set this up? Should we be thanking a Mod for their help?

I'll create a post there with the info from the opening post and update it from now on there.

Please direct further Asylumites discussion there.

Thanks!

Logged on last night after 3 hours of downloads and updates, to find out...

I have Dahlira - NE Priest lvl 12 Clothcraft/tailoring
Reniath - Tauren Druid lvl 5 Gathering/herbalism
Larzul - Undead Priest lvl 12 Clothcraft/tailoring.

With all you melee monkeys, someone has got to bring balance to the force.

Cool beans, Neph - I'll add them to the roster, but hop on tonight or anytime after patch is done (I'm working from home today, muHAHAHAHA) and one of us will guild tag your Night Elf or whatever class/race you want to create. You mentioned before something about making a Gnome and Orc before.

Again, we're gonna try to keep 1 main/1 alt in the Alliance guild for now.

For the Horde side, we haven't created the guild yet, but I've got the roster for that side, too.

***Edit*** You have to run/download it first before it plays, but note: NWS unless you use headphones.

With headphones, yes. Just some toons in Warcraft performing the song, it's pretty well done.

But definitely headphones...yes, definitely.

I vote for Kirin Tor. I have several toons on full servers, both Oceanic and Stateside, and congested servers can often make you wait in the queue for 45 minutes.

For the record, I generally play female characters since I have ongoing issues concerning me playing dressup in my mother's clothes, but in this particular case I will make whatever race, class, gender, and side you guys suggest. My name will be Totem, natch, and I will even muddle through those classes I don't play well (like 'Locks). I do wars, rouges (likely due to my Mom's influence), and hunters well. And I prefer Horde, although the angry bald male gnome always appeals to me.

Nevermind my last post. Ok, I read through the rest of the thread and saw that it is Shadow Council. No problem-o. Heheh, I have decided to make a black human hunter with Mangeclaw the white bear as my pet. Somehow that seems fitting.

In. Officially.

The guild is up and running on Shadow Council already - read previous posts - or I'll cut to the chase and say that most folks seemed to prefer Shadow Council as Aegis plays there, there is an already established economy, Nexa gets to use her name, yadda yadda, etc., etc.

It's a full server, but I have yet to see any queues to login...unlike my old server, Feathermoon - takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes.

Anyhoo, The Asylumites is an Alliance guild, but we are still building a roster to create a Horde guild for poops and giggles at some time. I know I want to play on both sides...wait, that didn't come out right...

Get in game when you can, send a whisper to Smoggy, Moereese, Snorre (my alt Hunter), Nexa or Aegis's character, Cherick or his alt in his other guild, Akiea. Let us know your characters' names, races and class on Alliance and Horde.

Check out the new Asylumites msg board here:

We look forward to your arrival, O Great One. Smiley: bowdown
