I keep walking into my closet (don't own a wardrobe) but the back seems pretty solid. Didn't know they sold tickets to Narnia. Are they expensive? I'd like to go.

Son of a *****, I still haven't seen the new Harry Potter. Maybe I'll go see them both this weekend.

I'm really excited about Narnia though, mainly because it hasn't had the Media Machine behind it and thus, I've barely seen any previews. I much to prefer to see a movie without having seen any previews at all.

it's funny, Im so excited about seeing this movie and I just found out the Mr hasn't even read the books. All I can think is he was sheltered as a child. he never had heard of the Polar Express either until last year.

I had to explain a little bit of the story to him, but the excitement is lost on him. Oh well. He's being dragged to it whether he likes it or not

We went to the 7:20 pm showing of it.

I liked it, but I haven't read the books, so the experience was a little new to me. It was pretty much what I expected it to be, but it did lose me in some parts when something happened that would be less clear to people who haven't read the novel.

My friends who had read the book liked it as well, but had the opposite complaint, of things moving a little slowly when they already knew what would happen next.

But all in all everyone pretty much enjoyed it. Nothing absolutely amazing, I'd say, but enjoyable at the very least.

Hrm, odd that I felt the same way. Normally I would have been like, omfg they changed that or wtf why didn't they include that but this time it didn't seem like they left a single thing out and I felt the same slow motion restlessness. Plus my experience was somewhat marred by the pouting hubby next to me who had wanted to either go to a Magic draft to win a PSP or see Syriana instead.

Overall though, the movie was wonderfully true to the book. I was amazed. My only real complaint was about Mr. Tumnus. He was a little too hawt of a faun for me and with the nekkid top and fuzzy hair it just creeped me out to have Lucy be so cutesy friendly with him. I LOVED Jim Broadbent as the Professor. He never disappoints me.

Seen The Movie Last Night. My Review:

I thought while the movie itself was good, it was lacking depth. The charactors seemed shallow and the battle scene seemed vague. This moive was your text book example of any fairytail story. There were no twists or turns in the plot which at time left me restles in my seat. Overall i'd give the moive a 7 out of 10. But, I might of judged the moive alittle harder then most. I went to the 10:40pm showing, and i seem to be a little tougher on critiquing at that time of night.

I'll definitely second that feeling about the battle scene. They jumped into it in a matter of minutes, and for being so "drastically outnumbered" they really didn't show much of a strategy to counter it.

Just got back from it and decided it needed the Peter Jackson treatment. It's just too much to pack umpteen books into a two hour movie. The characters could have been fleshed out more completely, but due to time constraints were left somewhat flat. A second film beginning at where Edmund is left in the prison would have been a good place to break.

I'll give it a B+ for how it handled C.S. Lewis' gem of a literary series.

other than the multiple referances to son of adam and daughter of eve, i really did not see the religious connection in the movie, and thus dont understand all the hoopla religious organizations are giving the movie. santa clause is in the movie, whats up with that? mixed signals about the meaning of Christmas?

anyway, very good movie. not on the same level as lord of teh rings, but certainly one of this years best, and worth spending the money to see. and the witch? just hot. i wanted her. my type of woman. reminds me of my wife.

My husband had also asked me if Santa was in the book because he didn't remember him. He was in there but was called Father Christmas instead.

I wanted to go see it, but am revising my opinion in favor of something like Syriana as well. The more time I spend with the public, the less I want to see people when I go out, much less the noisy, short kind.

I was supposed to see it last night before heading to a party, but the husband brought up the point it was opening weekend and the middle of a weekend day. hence lots of screaming kids. So we opted out and I figure I'll get to it sometime, hopefully soon.

From what I understand from my friends who read the books, the movie actually downplayed the religious undertones of the novels.

They said that Aslan is a Jesus figure, and that in the books, the language that they use to describe him is very reverent and really drives that point home.

I'd wager there are many more religious references, but I'm not really good at noticing these kind of things, either.

The way they pronounced Aslan really bothered me now that I think about it. As-lAN. Ech. I've always thought it was just a nice smooth name, Aslan, not Asland without the D.
