Thunder, Lightning, & Snow???Follow

I've lived in New England most of my life. I've seen blizzards, thunderstorms, and even a tornado. However, I have never seen the combination of a blizzard and a thunderstorm before.

No joke, it is snowing like a **** while there is thunder and lightning.

Weirdness.

It's a sign that the apocolypse is nigh.

It's happened twice this year in Michigan so far. I've seen it before, but it's not common.

Kind of cool to see though.

It's global warming then. Blame it on the greenhouse gases.

It is true and it does happen and it is occuring in Angryhippo's bedroom as we speak. Except his storm has not only thunder, lightning and snow, but rainbows and unicorns too.

I've heard that lightning in snowy conditions is highly uncommon. Must look pretty cool though, when millions of snow flakes suddenly light up.

More than one exclamation mark, surely a sign of a diseased mind.

It happens sometimes. I have never seen it personally but a lot of people have that I talked to about it Smiley: confused

And now i can see the sun set looking one way, and that weird mix of thunder, lightning, and snow the other.

The old saying about new england weather couldn't be more true.

Whereabouts in New England are you? It *just* stopped snowing here in Souther Maine. Very nice sunset at the moment. I did not see any lightning (couldn't see much of anything, really), but thunder was definately audible.

Edit: Of course, I could just look and see "Posting from Boston", but I'm not that observant.

Ran into a storm like that once while visiting a friend in Pittsburgh; mountains do odd things to storm systems.

I live in Mass too and while we didnt get the lightning tonight, we did a few weeks ago when it was snowing. Very cool thing to see when the snow muffles all sound but you see it light up and then hear the rumble of the thunder overhead.

I've seen that once here. But it was more sleet than snow. Pretty wild, though.

Seen that a few times up in Northern Maine. It's quite beautiful.

Until you have to shovel all the snow the next day, then it's not quite as lovely.
