These are very nice, but try and kick it up a notch. If you can even think of one little thing someone would like, you can usually elaborate on that by yourself. If she likes slippers, get her a pedicure kit and a one of those foot spa things and the slippers. If she likes wine enough that you think a book would be good, get a picnic basket and fill it with a bottle (or two) of her favorite kinds of wine, the book, a couple glasses, some nice cloth napkins, a table cloth, some complementary cheese and crackers, and a rose or something. Throw a "gift certificate" for a personal foot rub from yourself into either gift and you'll be her favorite for life.
It's possible that I'm out of touch with the female gender somewhat, since most of them are irritating, but imho something personal is always greater than something expensive.

Great ideas! She is just getting into Wine. I want to help educate her (and myself)on brands, styles, years, etc. I will do the basket thing with a couple bottles, I like that idea! I went to the snob mall on my lunch break and picked her up a matching slipper/PJ set and a Santa hat from Victorias Secret, then a nice wallet/clutch and purse dangle thing from Coach.
She has the pedicure kit and bath, but I will get her some bath salts and what not. She has a lot of the "gift certificates" for foot rubs amongst other things
Gettin the Hubby a brand new Shortboard - offered to buy him a longboard but apparently he wants to hate life for a few months.(macho) and a Dell laptop - nothing fancy just something to do Halo, Ebay & Email on.
I am at a total loss. We are -very- short on money this year, and I have been so wrapped up in the move...

Depending on your comfort level, boudoir photos would be a good gift. It's something he could bring with him when he's away again, very personal, small enough to put in a suitcase, etc. It's also something that can be done up very quickly if you have a close friend with a digital camera and a little lingerie he hasn't already seen. Give them to him Christmas morning, while wearing the lingerie.
