What gift(s) are you giving your significant other for the upcoming holidays?

I know my wife never reads this msg board, so I'm safe.
Here is what will be under our Christmas tree this year for my wife:
Ipod 60 GB and a Dell XPS 600.

She knows about the Ipod, but not the pc. Of course, if you don't hear from me on or after 12/25/05, please contact the authorities. I'm sure she's going to kill me for spending the money on the pc. It was nice knowing you...

My husband has been pleading to get a new car stereo for awhile so that's what he'll get. He's hard to buy for as he goes out and usually gets what he wants immediatly. Smiley: oyvey

Nice Dwarf!

The wife and I decided to help other people out in need this year instead of spending the normal shit pile of cash on each other.

Something different that I think will prove to be even more fun.

Ahh, you've rumbled that scam as well Aegis.

Christmas night I can bring light into the lives of a few dozen homeless folks and save £100s on what I'd have spent on electrical goods Smiley: grin

and the more grateful ones share their cheap cider with me!

(That previous line inserted as 'FTFY' bait for the feeble minded)

No clue yet. There isn't a big present that I have in mind for him, just some CDs, movies and clothes.

I got her the Mulberry Roxanne handbag she has been drooling over. She had best not leave it for puppies to chew.

My husband is a boxing fan. I got him two ring-side seats for a title match and a room for the night at the Casino's Hotel.

The fight happens to fall on our anniversary so I be going along.

I'm buying the fiance clothes. And before you snicker, he actually asked for them.

It's like a mutually beneficial gift. He gets what he asked for and I get to play dress up! Every woman's dream!

If you're a shallow fashionista like me that is.

I really have no clue what to get the Mrs.

So far I have come up with but not purchased:

A Super soft pair of slippers (any recomendations?)

We Love Kamatari Damacay for the PS2

A Book on Wine

A "clutch" from Coach

...

I am the type of shopper that needs to go out and find stuff, I can never think things up by myself.

I think I actually got the Golden Shovel nomination last night when we were talking about gift lists.

Me:I never know what to ask for because I am perfectly content with a woman I love, who loves me back, a beautiful, healthy baby boy, a roof over my head and food for my belly.

My wife: ...
[a dumb look washes over her face, like Bambi staring at the headlights of an oncoming truck]

Me:Seriously, though. What else could I ever need?

My wife: [Take me to bed or lose me forever](not her exact words, but you get the idea)

I would have looked at you dumbfounded as well, but for using the phrase "food for my belly."

These are very nice, but try and kick it up a notch. If you can even think of one little thing someone would like, you can usually elaborate on that by yourself. If she likes slippers, get her a pedicure kit and a one of those foot spa things and the slippers. If she likes wine enough that you think a book would be good, get a picnic basket and fill it with a bottle (or two) of her favorite kinds of wine, the book, a couple glasses, some nice cloth napkins, a table cloth, some complementary cheese and crackers, and a rose or something. Throw a "gift certificate" for a personal foot rub from yourself into either gift and you'll be her favorite for life.

It's possible that I'm out of touch with the female gender somewhat, since most of them are irritating, but imho something personal is always greater than something expensive.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be finding the same set of books under the tree for me this year. Smiley: yippee

A possible solution for the impending CD problem - headphones FTW! (Although, I must admit that I have an old CD of Bon Jovi - New Jersey around somewhere...what? It was 1988! Sue me!

Nice - I've not quite convinced my wife (or myself, for that matter) about for satellite radio, but like you, if I do get it at some point, it'll probably be Sirius. I'm sure I'll be jonesing for Howard Stern's show every now and then after he leaves his current gig. I never heard of the Junkies that are replacing him on the Baltimore station. Hopefully they don't suck, since I'll be staying on the east coast for longer than I previously thought.

If/when we move back to California (most likely Spring/early Summer of 2007), I'll be happy listening to Adam Carolla in the morning and we won't have to go to satellite.

My SO really needs a good pair of sun glasses. The only problem is that I have to take her with me to try some on. Meaning she knows exactly what she is getting. I think I might get her somthing small too, but we are saving money and don't want to spend too much on each other.

My wife insists upon getting cheap sunglasses since she ends up losing them every 3 or 4 months. When she first told me this (back on our honeymoon in Hawaii), I insisted that she let me buy her and myself some decent sunglasses (I view them as a good investment and eye protection).

Of course, I should have listened, since she left them on the plane on the way back home from the honeymoon. Smiley: banghead

I'm the same way with both sunglasses and watches

I lose/break sunglasses within a month, and I break watches within 3-6 months.

Even though I hate X-mas, I'm a sucker for getting the wife something good. This year she is getting 2 tickets to go see Bon Jovi and a trip to the casino.

Me three. I'm why I can't have nice things.

I break my watches in 3-6 months also. One watch has lasted me a long time though. It was a top of the line Casio(funny yes). I beat the **** out of that watch, even surfing with it, for 5 years.

Hate to break it to you man, but Adam Corolla no longer on the Kevin & Bean show. He did Love Lines at night for quite a few years, but just quit that a few months ago. Apparently Comedy Central is keeping him pretty busy.

I'm referring to his new morning radio gig coming in January - New Lineup including Adam Carolla
