I would think the odds would be better he would rig the bomb up so that he can explode it himself in the place that would resault in the most catastrophic damage.

Yeah, clearly away from the all the people and the plane.

Also, having it go off if he was killed doesn't preclude him from blowing it up whenever he wants.

Did you get any straws that time?

By running AWAY from them?

This was a gross overreaction. Forgivable? Yes. Should the murder be charged? No. Should he still have a job carrying a gun at airports? Also no.

yes away from the plane, but towards a crowed building with more people in it then the plane he had just left... yes he was a threat to PASSENGERS, the end results however tragic they may be was he ended up getting shot and as a result of that shot he died later on.

he did not die on site, he was not shot dead the with the first round that hit him, the federal marshals did their job and they did it well.

some basic bits of information i think Smash is intentionally trying to forget or is trying to manipulate others to forget.

A. guy claims to have a BOMB.

B. guy just came off of a plane from a country with known problems and not the most secure in the world.[edit to add]

as for the potential of his bags being scanned, see statement B.

Quote:
Alpizar had arrived in Miami, Florida, from Ecuador on a flight that had originated in Colombia.

we know that both of those countries just have the utmost security and absolutely NOTHING gets past their guards.... LoL yeah right smash. come on now, you are way to smart for that.

i think you just like to have something to fight about, so unless something more comes to light to change the facts listed here, please try to restrain yourself from further flames.

C. guy threatens and challanges federal marshals.

D. guy makes agresive action towards said marshals.

E. guy refuses to comply with federal marshals commands. mind you had he followed those commands he most likely be ALIVE TODAY and we would be having an other discussion, if it even made it to the news.

F. guy makes agressive move towards his "bomb".

G. federal marshals shoot him to stop him from activating this "bomb" and killing an untold amount of inocents and himself.

yes the guy was mentally ill. of all of the reports i have read on this yet the federal marshals did not have this information at the time of the shooting, and even if they did they truely had not other option then to stop this "mad man" from activating a BOMB and killing people.

is it tragic, yes, was the shooting justified, H3LL yes.

Yeah, which is why they killed him. Who knows if the word "bomb" was ever uttered.

Because even the most effective tranq's take some time to take effect..giving the suspected terrorist ample time to detonate his/her explosive device.

The Air Marshall acted just as his training indicated..remove the threat..Bravo

Well I feel more comfortable with this headline than if it had been:

Bombing Death toll nears 5,000

Rescuers continue to evactuate survivors from yesterday's chemical airport bombing. Witnesses report a man claimed he had a bomb minutes before the explosion. Federal air marshals were distracted by another suspect chasing after the man claiming he was sick. Upon reaching the center of the terminal he detonated the device. A yet unidentified chemical agent was quickly spread throughout the airport and out into the surrounding city by the light breeze. The effects of the agent have been painfull blisters, seizures, profuse bleeding, and eventually death within hours in most cases. Government officials are encouraging citizens to avoid travel and large gatherings of people. Sources say the terrorist alert level may be raised to orange later in the week

Yeah whatever. We should have shot down both planes that violated DC airspace and should just kill anyone who looks at TAA officals funny.

Just to be safe.

Hmm a gunshot does not guarantee he cannot detonate his device.

As previously established, while it was a fatal wound it did not kill him on the spot, unless they shot him in the neck and paralzyed him from the neck down he could of still detonated the bomb .... removed the threat my ***.

The effects of the agent have been hunger, stomache rumbles, profuse drooling, and eventually raving need of cheese within hours in most cases. While no where near as entertaining as a cheese wheel, there was a story on foodnetwork the other day about 20 or so people who drowned when a vat of molasses burst and poured a 20 foot high wall of the stuff down a main street in Boston I think.

<searching>

Correct!

You know, if this had happened in Toronto, someone would have calmed the guy down, taken him to a bar to watch the Leafs game and he'd be in Costa Rica right now growing fresh healthy cocaine.

Fucking US.

I would assume those people dove into the rushing beer and drank themselves to death ... /snicker

Hopefully someone saw the irony in getting killed by a wall of molasses ...

Have a party!

Or as a co-worker once did, eat the whole thing and be plugged up for 3 days and then visit the emergency room.

President Thomas Jefferson received a gift of mammoth cheese delivered to the White House..

..four feet in diameter, thirteen feet in circumference, and seventeen inches in height; once cured, it weighed 1,235 pounds.

More than two years later a "pungent remnant" of the cheese was still being prominently displayed at the White House and fragments were being served on ceremonial occasions, although "very far from good."

The very last decayed and maggotty chunks were eventually dumped into the Potomac.

Hence the term "Big Cheese"

Wait, so at these parties you just saw off a hunk of cojack and wander around nibbling on it like an oversized rodent?
