Songs I'm Done WithFollow

Driving to lunch today, I flipped on the radio and listened to the Cars singing "My Best Friend's Girl" (or whatever that song is called). A good enough song, peppy tune, but damn it if I'm not just done with that song. I don't hate it or even actively dislike it, but I've wrung every bit of enjoyment I can get out of it and if I never hear it again for the rest of my days, I won't notice the difference.

Along the same lines:
Elvis Costello, "Veronica"
Supertramp, "Goodbye Stranger"
Bobby Darrin, "Mack the Knife"
Led Zepplin, All of Zepplin IV
Looking Glass, "Brandy"
Pink Floyd, "Another Brick In The Wall Pt. II"
Rush, "Tom Sawyer"

I had a discussion about this with the ladyfriend after hearing some peppy love song on the speakers in a restaurant but I can't remember the song. Although, now that I think of it, add Six Pence None The Richer's "Kiss Me" to that list.

I can't seem to get sick of Black Betty, both the ZZ Top and Ram Jam versions. It's kind of like your Air Supply tune. It just doesn't get old.

November Rain by Guns and Roses.

I haven't heard that song in close to 8 years, but even the thought of it makes me mangry. There are others but that is on the top of the list.

[:puke:]

I hate Sugar Ray his voice is annoying as hell and his lyrics and songs suck.

Back in school the lab aid in the computer lab played Sugar Ray's 'Fly' song. He had it set to repeat and that damn song played non stop all day. I told him off and talked to his supervisor (who I was friends with). He had to have headphones like the rest of the people in the lab after that.

Crash by DMB. I used to love it, but I have officially played it to death.

I'm more like this with movies than songs generally.

The Doors first album, the whole freakin thing.
Fleetwood Mac, Rhiannon
Nirvana, Smells Like Teen Spirit

No fair putting stuff here that your initial reaction to was negative. I think the idea is to list stuff you thought was good (or great...) and yet no longer enjoy.

Any Hootie and the Blowfish song.

80's music absolutely makes me want to rip my genital hair out.

Jessica Simpson's "These boots were made for walking"

Classic Rock should be outlawed for 20 years. It's not classic anymore, its antique.

"Rock Lobster" by the B-52s. Had its day, now I hear it and I just want it to end.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart", because it's the #1 song that makes drunk girls try karaoke.

Any song by Nelly, KC and Jojo, or Norah Jones.

Stone Temple Pilots, "Plush"

It's a good song, but I must have heard it about 7,000 times in the past ten years.

Now, you know a song's been overplayed when your 6 year old daughter starts signing a song in the car, and I have NO CLUE how she knows the lyrics to "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas. But it was a kick to hear her singing it and I hope to God that she had no clue what the lumps and humps were.
