Could this finally be the start of a real opposition for Labour? We will see.

From impressions I have gained I like the new conservative leader. He is not 60 with grey hair and talking about old glory days. He looks forward, to the future. He reminds me of Tony Blair when he inherited the leadership of the labour party.

The good thing about this is that Boris Johnson will probably get a shadow cabinet place, which is fantastic news. We need more comedic politicians.

I watched Prime Ministers question time a few weeks ago.

I laughed so hard when Michael Howard with a grin on his face told the Prime minister "well I share the same position as my honourable friend the prime minister in that my days are numbered. We are both on our way out, would the prime minister care to tell us when he will leave?" (or somesuch - not an exact quote).

I do enjoy watching the banter and boos and cheers sometimes. The British parliament can be so childish Smiley: smile

The problem for the Tory's is that John Major allowed Labour to steal the all important middle ground, it's going to be very hard to get back.

Even if they do with the Pension and heath sevice problems on the horizon (not to mention global problems conserning fuel and global warming) i would imagine it's going to be a bad time to take over anyway.

If nothing else Labour should be lauded for giving control of base interest rates to the bank of england, which has been the main reason we stopped having a boom/burst ecconomy.
