So we get credit for every death in WW1 and 2? I guess all the Brits, French and Russians did was stand around and watch the American soldiers kill everyone, and noone died before the US got into the war. That's amazing.

No but in one way or another America was involved and you missed the point. And as far as WWII MOST of the Japanese deaths were in a direct result from Americans.

I disagree, i'm english and i think that us brits have dirtied our hand as much if not more than american.

Hell, we made first use of concentration camps in the boa war, and along with the dutch and spanish created the architype for colonial exploitation, sure america is acting like a bully at the moment (and has almost throughout its short history) but who did the americans get that from? Us europeans! More people were killed in the english civil war than were killed in the first world war. and that was with muskets and sabers not machine guns and tanks.

I know I read somewhere that at least 10 German's died tripping over the surrendering French laying prostrate on the ground during the invasion.

Heh that statement reminded me of this little ditty.

The Inquisition (Let's begin)
The Inquisition (Look out sin)
We have a mission to convert the Jews (Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew)
We're gonna teach them wrong from right.
We're gonna help them see the light
and make an offer that they can't refuse. (That those Jews just can't refuse)
Confess, don't be boring.
Say yes, don't be dull.
A fact you're ignoring:
It's better to lose your skull cap than your skull (or your govalt!)
The Inquisition (what a show)
The Inquistion (here we go)
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away.
But the Inquisition's here and it's here to stay!

"I was sitting in a temple. I was minding my own business.
I was listening to a lovely Hebrew mass.
Then these Papus persons plungered and they throw me in a dungeon and they shove a red hot poker up my ***.
Is that considerate? Is that polite?
And not a tube of Preperation H in sight!"

"I'm sittin' flickin' chickens and I'm lookin' throught the pickins' and suddenly thes goyim pull down valls.
I didn't even know them and they grabbed my by the stoghum and started playing ping pong with my balls!
Ooh, the agony! Ooh, the shame!
To make my privates public for a game?"

The Inquisition (what a show)
The Inquisition (here we go)
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away.
But the Inquisition's here and it's here to-
"Hey Toquemada, walk this way."
"I just got back from the Auto-de-fe."
"Auto-de-fe? What's an Auto-de-fe?"
"It's what you oughtn't to do but you do anyway."
Will you convert? "No, no, no, no."
Will you confess? "No, no, no, no."
Will you revert? "No, no, no, no."
Will you say yes? "No, no, no, no!"
Now I asked in a nice way, I said, "Pretty please."
I bent their ears, now I'll work on their knees!
"Hey Toquemada, walk this way. We got a little game that you might wanna play, so pull that handle, try you're luck."
"Who knows, Toq, you might win a buck!"

"How we doin', any converts today?"
"Not a one, nay, nay, nay."
"We flattened their fingers, we branded their buns!
Nothing is working! Send in the nuns!"

The Inquisition, what a show.
The Inquisition, here we go.
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away!
So all you Muslims and you Jews
We got big news for all of yous:
You'd better change your point of views TODAY!
'Cause the Inquisition's here and it's here to stay!

The vast majority of Japanese ground troops were tied up in China. They were fighting there since 1937. While I don't doubt that US forces inflicted significant casaulties on the Japanese, the Japanese have no one but themselves to blame for it. It was their complete failure to use a modern tactical doctrine that resulted in the complete slaughter of their troops. If you have some evidence to indicate that the majority of japanese casualties were a result of American action, please provide it.

its staggering how many people do not realize that the USA has been around LONGER then any other Government in the world today.

So to call the US history little or short compaired to others is just down right ignorant. no other single government in the world today has been around for any place close to 200+ years like the USA.

England does not exist then?

We have never been successfully invaded since William the Conquerer. That is something near 1000 years under self rule.

Our government has merely morphed over time (barring Cromwells dictatorship). Our laws, customs and government are the same.

But then, I would never accuse an american of ignorance .... Smiley: tongue

so you are saying that the Monarchy is what England is today and the PM has zero power? i could of swore that the Queen has no real political power to make law, change law, or to tax and govern the English and that all lays now in the hands of parlament and with the PM, currently Tony Blair (sp?).

that means that your GOVERNMENT is newer and younger then that of the USA.

i stated nothing about your lands or customs, only about current government.

i guess not all English are as smart as they might think they are.

That's right, because our government hasn't changed at all in 200 years. 3/5ths of blacks agree with me, too.

It is not the same constitution, nor the same monarch powers as it was then as it is today. today the Queen does not rule the UK as King Henry III did, or any king/queen for that matter as rule of law and government was turned over completly to parliament less then 100 years ago making the monarchy nothing but a figure head and a national symbol on its history.

please do not take that as an insult to the Queen, but she is not your ruler in the same way as the President of the US, or for that matter the same as your mighty PM. those are the leaders and those governments are what I speak of.

name one nation that has had the same type of government for as long as the US with out change.

Yes smash our consitution and bill of writes have been modified, but the US is still a republic and has been since 1776.

BAM!

I also find is amusing that wholsale changes in the US electoral process, suffrage, and powers of respective branches don't count, but simmilar changes in English Common Law do.

Hahaha.

um, nothing has changed in the base gov. in its shift in power. still 3 branches of gov. with the Pres. being the head of state and leader of this nation.

what has happend in the UK is the head of state of past (the monarch) no longer has any power. that would be the same as saying the Majority leader in Congress is now the head of the US with the Pres. having zero power to gov. the US and is nothing but a public icon.

like our current pres. or not, that is not how the USA government system works.

What does any of that have to do with how much history a nation has?

I suppose the Lithuanian history text books only go back as far as 1991 because Lithuanian history didn't start until the country broke off from the USSR.

The United States has a shorter history than most nations. Get over it.

history and government are not the same thing.

in fact the history of America is just as long if not longer then most of Europe and only second to Africa if you really want to get picky with human life time.

i said the GOVERNMENT... read that again. there is a differance between the GOVERNMENT and the country. they are not always the same. a perfect example is U.S.S.R and Russia. they are not the same, yet people associate them as one and the same.

the U.S.S.R lasted less then 100 years, but Russia has been around as long as America, does that change the fact that the US Government has been around for far longer then that of a now no longer exsisting nation state?

nope. the fact still remains that the US gov. is one of the oldest in the world. *yes had to modify that, thank you Smash* the UK current gov. modle is not as old as that of the US.

Um, Mr. OP, sorry to burst your bubble, but other nations of done their fair share of shady business. Yes, America is guilty of for a lot of things. But no nation is perfect, please realize this. Every nation has blood on it's hands.

Take for example..

Ancient Egyptians (used slaves to build the pyramids)

The Roman Empire

The Crusades

The Dark Ages

Spanish Inquisition

Japanese Occupation of South Korea

Pearl Harbor

**** Germany

The Holocaust

Iraqi invasion of Kuwait

9/11

I think you made a mistake when you gave this thread it's title, because it's VERY offensive. You might want to say we as a species, thrive on killing one another, or something to that effect. Because your title makes it out to be that Americans are the only ones who have done anything wrong.

Uh, whoosh yourself smart guy. Remember Pearl Harbor? Sneak Attack? HELLO! Let's remember how the war with Japan first started. Oh, and let's not forget the occupation of Korea, and the Japanese attempt's at taking over China. Japan wanted to go all out and kill people from different nations, and rule the world alongside **** Germany. It was at the tail end of WWII that they both got dealt with, simple as that.

I suppose now you'd want to argue about all the civilian deaths in WWII. Well, people were messed up back then, and war is hell. There's no point in debating who is the lesser of two evils. Every nation was resorting to low blows in those days.

I'm sorry, but I just get peeved when people go out of their way to demonize the United States, when no one else is any better.
