people like John McCain are saying they've talked to the CIA people and there was no pressure to force the intelligence to that conclusion.

That's simply untrue. Either he's lying, or the people he talked to were lying to him.

I, personally, have no further evidence one way or another on this. If I did, I would post it. Thus all I can say is the above.

However, what I heard at the time (this is prewar, so a while back) was that the administration wasn't getting the intel they wanted from the usual channels, (which would be included in a NIE like what I listed) so they set up their own shop under the DOD.

This was from news analysts - I have no idea what their sources were. Perhaps it was/is common knowledge.

However it is a fairly damning allegation.

I could fill pages with what I suspect the administration did but what we actually know (see above, dispute that if you like) they have done is quite damning enough. At this point, it is just a test of the American public to see how long we allow this travesty to continue.

absolutly agree.

and lets not forget the daily body count.

there is no compelling evidence, then or now, that an invasion was necessary. the addministraition keeps chanting "the bad intellegaqnce.." but there NEVER has been ANY conclusive evidence put forward to the american people before, during, or after the invasion that attacking a defenseless country not currently enguaged in any hostilities with any one was necessary, much less the last resort.

we bought off on it based solely on the salesmanship of the leader of our country. so did congress.

and like you pointed out, after the cia leak, fema mess, no social security fix, spirialing deficit, and countless other blunders, with very little positive to show for 5 years and counting.......

it is just a test of the american people as to how long we will allow this travesty to continue.

Cheves. OMG, the little pissant thug in venezuala is gathering more political support in south america than the president of the united states of america. they announced a plan to nationalize the american oil wells in south america. where is our diplomacy? where is our statesmanship?

a test to see wich goes first, the rights support for this travesty of an addministraiton, or the total international standing of america, if there is really anything left of it that is.
