I was all excited to see I could download WOW's free trial. Now I'm pissed that its asking for a verification code. Blah! Gonna make me call up friends to get a code so I can play! Everyone's at work!

Wait...it's a free trial, but you need a verification code?

Something like 7 days free or some crap. Though I didnt read the fine print while downloading it and missed the part where its only free if you have a code from a friend who already plays.

I believe you need a friend to refer it to you.

The price has also been lowered and there is a rebate/coupon thing going on that lets you get it for 19.99$

If anyone that matters checks it out roll up a horde toon on Mal'ganis and holler at me, Trickybeck is also there. I also play alliance off and on, on suramar or stormscale. Stormscale is the home of the WoW allakhazam forum guild, DF and others sometimes pop on there.

I would offer to twink anyone but I am just 80g shy of getting this for my Epic Mount

When FFXI was new you needed a code to join a specific server. They just started a thread in the main forum requesting PMs for codes. Maybe you could try that?

I've still got my old extra buddy code from when I bought WoW. PM me and I'll send you mine later on tonight. My fathers' birthday is tonight, so it will be later on abit.

Well, what xythex said could work, depends on the kind of code. If it is something off of the CD, people won't want to do it. But in FF, you get the code from an NPC vendor in game, so it isn't a big deal. Worth a shot if you get desperate I suppose. I really don't know.

If you do get the verification code from a friend make be careful.

It will ask for your credit card info and all the usual sign up jazz. If you do not turn off the auto billing feature you will be billed for a month as soon as the seven days run out.

So once you are set up just go into billing options and cancel billing and enjoy.
