I think December 22 or 23. So far the plan is to send our stuff away on the 22 but leave on the 23. Luckily my finals are all at the beginning of the week, I just lucked out, so I am done with finals on Friday the 16th. They actually go until the 20th, so I was really worried that I would get screwed with time. This way I have like 5 or 6 days to get stuff done after finals.
A complication came up yesterday though. My husband's 1st Sgt is an ***. There are many reasons I say this, but there are two big reasons that are getting to me right now. Number 1. My husband as of November has 14 days of leave, but December "block leave" is 17 days long. If you count his December leave days, he will have enough. Will the *** of a 1st Sgt let him? Nope. He knows we are moving, and that this is my husband's last time to see me before he deploys, but he doesn't care. At my husband's last unit, before deployment they were allowed to even go into negative leave days - we weren't even asking for that.
The other reason I hate him is that he is giving my husband grief about wanting to live in the barracks from mid-december until they deploy in mid-Feb. Really, since my husband will be on leave, he needs a room from beginning of January to mid-Feb. We only have one car, my husband can't stay in housing if I take the car - how can he get to work and the grocery store? We live off post. Anyway, the evil 1st Sgt says we are just trying to "get money off of the government" because our housing allowance will kick in, yet he will be living in the barracks. I want to see the actual regulation on this. There is a way to deal with geographical bachelors, and that ain't it. I am really mad. So we may not be able to clear housing....I don't know what we will do.
*sad*
