It looks ugly and strange and unnatural Smiley: mad

I'm hoping it finds some way to validate its weird and unnatural grace soon. And I don't mean any "now you're safe from Spyware!" crap. Jophiel doesn't take well to change.

Jophiel does refer to himself in the third person though

Everything looks ugly strange and unnatural at 800x600

Install the extensions:

Adblock
NoScript
gTranslate
Define Word
Spellbound

Much Much better browsing experience than IE

With Adblock you can block specific avatars, by right clicking and choosing adblock image. Very usefull

Is there a way to drop the URL bar down a line under the navigation icons? The customize option doesn't seem to be cutting it. That alone would solve 60% of my "feels wrong" issues.

Interesting. I was ready to learn a whole new thing, and when I downloaded it, I was suprised to find out that it was just like IE. Then I go and get Thunderbird, and it is just like Outlook. But yes, I have run across a few things that won't work with Firefox, like the website that runs my algebra homework. It annoys me.

You know, I never once noticed that until you pointed it out. No idea if you can move it or not.

Edit: Well, I s'pose you can, heh.

Try www.avantbrowser.com as well. I like it better than firefox, plus it's quicker. and less picky.

Ya, if you open the customize toolbar option you can drag and drop the elements of the original toolbar

No offense, but nuts to that. It took me a year to try this. And I was among the last surviving Netscape users Smiley: laugh

(i'm oldschool explorer, sorry to say, fox works best, mozzilla is patchy, but IE explorer is fast (and like a sieve)...)

Okay, seriously, I have seen this more than once and maybe I am just missing something. It is my understanding that there is a company called Mozilla that has made Firefox and Thunderbird. Then people will post and argue whethere Mozilla or Firefox is better, or like whoever the hell just did, say Mozilla is great, Firefox is okay. Is there something I don't know?

Actually, Firefox does seem friggin' slow to load a page and seems to do so in fits and starts. At least compared to IE. At first I wrote it off to FF needing to download and cache the graphics but even refreshing seems to take noticable longer.

As in it's full of security holes or that anything you try to hold in it inevitably ends up all over the kitchen floor?

Mozilla makes Firefox. They also make their original Mozilla browser. And (not sure here) but I think Netscape is built on the Mozilla engine.

IE stands alone.

In my experience, if you load FF with too many extentions, it slows down.

I have IE page view, Auto Fill, one theme that makes FF look better, and the weather extention (forgot it's name). Mine loads pretty quick now. But at one point, it took almost 30-45 seconds to open. It was all my extentions.

I have no extensions running, and when I boot up I can stil get IE up almost a minute befroe FF will bother to show.

Still, I heart the tabs. Whole reason I use it.

Back to IE for the moment though I intend to continue trying FF and give it a fair shake.

The tabbed thing might be more enticing if I didn't continually mouse down to the taskbar out of habit to change browser screens. Then I have to mouse back up to actually hit the tab Smiley: dubious

I'll admit that's a "Jophiel" flaw as opposed to a FF tab flaw but Jophiel is out for one man... Jophiel Smiley: grin
