D-Day for fliersFollow

#1 Nov 27 2005 at 10:48 AM Rating: Default
well, this is it. the day every one jumps on a plane and heads home from the hollidays. the day when our local trafic count jumps from 6000 operations a day to over 9000 operations.

checklist:
water bottle - check
protien bars - check
malox - check
asprian - check
a place to store my *** when it is handed to me - check

if you are flying today, your an idiot. thats all i can say. delays? count on them. cancellations? a given. missed connections? you bet.

and when the pilot says "we will have a xxxx minute air traffic controll delay..." what you will really be hearing is "air traffic controll decided to save your life by holding you on the ground for a few minutes...."

and being my facility alone is over 30 percent below staffing numbers right now, we will be doing it alot more often.

if your flying today, your an idiot.

It's you're. You're, not your.

And yes, I am flying today. Thanks for letting me know that I'm an idiot. Sorry to inform you that you're not exactly exploring new territory, though. I lost my "You are an idiot cherry" a couple of decades ago. I'm such a *****.

I can't believe they let you direct planes. "Asprian"? That's not even phonetic.

#4REDACTED, Posted: Nov 27 2005 at 8:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) From what i've heard about being an air traffic control type, it isn't ones ability to spell that is all that valued. I'd say it's ones ability to speak and think and keep track of multiple layers of information at once. Now, SR might be a non-spelling, liberal christian, but he has made several good points.

Really? When?

Re: Today, no fucking shit it's a bad day to fly. It's been the busiest travel weekend of the year in the United States since 1621. Next you'll me lauding the police for telling me not to leave my money in a sack with a dollar sign on it, laying in the middle of the street.

No, most of the attacks from the usual crowd come from his points being inane and him not doing anything except for finding some news point and then saying "you're all sheep!! the moral majority working for you!" and not much else.

For contrast, Smasharoo spelled like he was just hitting the keyboard with a bag of jelly but he usually had people agreeing with things he'd say. Shadow pretty much gets a universal eye roll from both sides of the aisle.

#8REDACTED, Posted: Nov 27 2005 at 9:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, what I see on these boards aren't necessarily attacks on content, just attacks on non-accepted members of the good-ole boys and girls. You know, those that kiss butt enough to make somebody happy, but that **** off enough to make somebody amused. It's the wonderful balancing act of the professional assylum member. An accepted member can post drivel and just be kindly harrassed, an outsider can post relevant and interesting things but be smoked into non-existance, as far as karma goes.

Where is the liberal cry of diversity being the greatest part of humankind? Where is the equality among the people? It's certainly not here.

The internet is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

#11REDACTED, Posted: Nov 27 2005 at 9:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wow, it's really amazing to me the sarcasm in this phrase "the internet is serious business". It's as serious of a business as any sort of inerpersonal communiciation through written words. What else can it be?

Well, that's Forum=4 for you.

Seriously, the whole sociology "I've been watching and see how you guys operate" angle's been done to death.

That's just it. You're not "dreaded", there's about one of you every three months spreading your John Hughes inspired message of cliques, outsiders and acceptance. No one especially cares.

I dread you, you're so dreaded. OMG, the dread. Give me an fing break. Self-important, pompous, gradeose people crack me up. You are an outsider, dude, not me. You found your outsider click, fine. But don't spout off to me about how anything I say is any less important than what you say. LMFAO, I mean literally, not just in internet lingo.

I am? You base this off...?

I suppose there's any numbers of country clubs I wouldn't be allowed past the gate of, but I'm not exactly dressing in black and listening to emo about it.

'Round here it is. That's not an ego trip or anything -- your opinion is less important than that of at least a hundred people around here. Feel free to tell me all about how you're an ace player in "real life" and how funny you find us all, though.

Edit: I suppose I should note for the record that, yes, yes.. 31 post scholar who's been "reading this for years" = obvious sock. I'm bored.

#23REDACTED, Posted: Nov 27 2005 at 11:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wow, put words in my mouth some more, why don't you? Did I ever call anybody a dork? I don't recall doing so. I said you are an outsider being that 100 regulars on a message board verses thousand of subscribers, equals outsider. Now, you can interpret that any way you want, I just stated a fact.
