So I am now 30 years old. Doesn't feel much different other than the joint pains and forgetfulness. Not likeing the fact that there is the same amount of time until I am 40 as there has been since I was 20.

Anyway, HUGE party this weekend. Have booked a Country Manor House for 32 of my nearest and dearest, bit of clay pigeon shooting, and a 5 course banquet cooked by a professional chef (aka my brother). Enough booze to sink a battle ship. Should be a good one.

Happy Birthday Patrician!

Just turned 31 here and one of the things I noticed (and my wife) was the morning wood seems to happen with less frequency then we like.

Other then that, my only advise is don't go ape **** on the booze as hangovers are getting worse on less alcohol consumed. Also, don't start the same weight lifting program at 30 that you did at age 20.

Guns and Booze seems like a great combination!!!

Just remember that shooting beer can's off each other's heads is only acceptable in Texas.

Ahh, but now I can consider you to be my older, dashing, gentleman friend. You are not older, but more distinguished. A few more years and you really will be our James Bond.

Oh James! /swoon

Happy Birthday, Pat Smiley: boozing - Although there are tradeoffs, the 30s are better than the 20s. 40s are better than 30s, too, but the tradeoffs are broader. Then again...um, er...what were we talking about again?

Pfftt.. that only takes a fifth of gin and a crappy captain. What you need is enough booze to float a battleship!

Happy birthday

Happy Birthday. Remember when shooting not to spill your drink. That's how people get hurt.

Ahem, yes, that is what I meant. I have catered per person (including the girls):

2 glasses of champagne
1 and 1/2 bottles of wine
2 glasses of 1975 Maderia wine (its 30, like me!)
250ml of gin/vodka (10 shots)
3 large beers

...and 30 shotgun cartridges

Ugh. I also just hit 30...
Ran into a guy I enlisted with a little while back, and he didn't recognize me at first. He was like "Dude, what happened? Your...bald...."
And I am now. LOL.
Five years on a carrier will do that to you. Especially working for Admiral Roughead.
But, the party was worth it.
Have fun, get bent, break some ****, enjoy some pleasent company, and try to ignore the emergency room bills and lawsuits you'll be seeing next week.

Happy 30 Pat.

By special request!

The party was fantastic - my brother did a stunning job cooking a 7 course meal for 32 people. Much drunkenness and hilarity. And my very generous friends bought me a $2k watch. Wow!

Who needs a $2k watch. You could've gotten a $50 watch and it would last just as long!
