few things.

1. i deep fry my turkey. 3min per lbs. 3 days worth of prep work that i would do even if i were cooking the bird in the oven or on the grill.

2. creamy garlic mashed potatos(sp?)

3lbs potatos
1qt heavy cream
6 - 9 cloves of garlic minced
little salt n pepper

yum yum

3. galic mushroom gravy.

1 can of mushroom soup
1 can of beaf/turkey broth
1 - 2 portablea mushroom(s) saute with either olive oil or butter and some cumman
2 - 3 cloves garlic minced

yum yum with those potatos up above.

i use a cajun style marinaid and injection for the turkey followed by a dry rub of creole seasoning.

For some people, bird is bird.

I'm considering baking some game hens in my crockpot.

Brine it breast side down over night and then cook it in a smoker, it will be soooo good everyone will love you and fill the sad little void that all of us are missing...

If you can, try and TiVo or catch The Food Networks Good Eats Thanksgiving Special hosted by everyones favorite Alton Brown. Lots and lots of info in regards to cooking a turkey and all the trimmings. Also teaches you how to cut the bird.

Definetly soak the turkey over night in a Brine/spice bath.

This year I plan to eat whatever is set before me, turkeywise. I don't care too much which way they prepare it.

You missed an option, Kao, which would've been:

"Doesn't matter how it's cooked, as long as it's covered in cheese."

I had to pick microwave by default.

I loved watching that. I saw it last year and learned never to stuff the turkey with stuffing from Alton. Of course, for some reason that triggered a huge debate with some friends on whether to stuff or not to stuff.

I can not cook well for everyday food, but for some reason I can cook the best turkey you will ever sink your incisors into. I dont know how or why, or what it is I do specifically, but the meat is always fully cooked yet moist, the skin is crispy, and all is good

you gotta go all out and get the turduckenplatyham

basically a turducken, but the duck is stuffed with a platypus
and the whole thing is shoved inside a giant ham and deep fried.

I always gain weight over the holidays. Working it off after the first always works out nicely.
