I'm not sure how I feel about a screen adaptation of these shorts. We finally have the CG capabilities to do the series justice which is a good thing, but I get the feeling it won't fall in line with the original. Some recent trasfers from comic to celluloid have seen some great success so I'm just hoping that a similar success can be found here.

As to Charlize Theron playing Aeon, I must say I'm a bit dissapointed. Not that she's not a talented actress, I just don't get that she fits the role well. That and she's too short and fat to look the part. A dye job just isn't going to cut it. On the bright side, she's somewhat reliable for getting nekid so at least it's got that going for it.

Anyone else familiar with the old toon and have plans on seeing the film? I'll be seeing it regardless, though I'm getting a HGTTG vibe already.

Compared to the angular and anorexic looking animated Aeon Flux, I'll take a scantily clad Charlize Theron any day.

I used to watch and enjoy the Liquid Television shorts without dialogue and bought (and watched) the video of "full length" episodes for a girl I was dating at the time. I can't see the ladyfriend being interested though so I doubt I'll catch it in theatres but I'll pick up the DVD rental when it comes around.

Gratuitous Jessica Biel bikini shots did nothing to help Stealth. In fact, removing them would have made the movie shorter for a net gain.

Come to think of it, gratuitous Jessica Biel shower scenes with an iPod did nothing to help Blade Trinity either. I'm detecting a trend.

Besides, you have to admit that, if they had Charlize Theron slip on a patch of ice and get nailed in the skull by a robotic sentry gun about 90min into the movie, it'd be pretty funny Smiley: laugh

North Country left me with an icky feeling when it comes to Charlize Theron. Not that the movie was about the first class action sexual harrassment lawsuit, no, it was that her hair, and just the way she was in that movie made me wish she'd commit suicide via a highly ingenuitive Bowflex contraption.

Her acting... her hair... the way she generally looks... her hair.. I hate it. I want her to die. When I preview our print AeonFlux I'm going to need many beers. Mmm... Heinie.... Guiness.....

God I need beer.

I only remember her in Monster, which is one screwed up movie.

It will probably be put in my rental pile unfortunatly. I loved LiquidTV and Aeon Flux, but Charlize Therin, ehhh. Also I doubt the Mrs. would have any interest at all in seeing it.

So who would be thin enough? Mary-kate Olsen? Lindsey Lohan? Lara Flynn Boyle?

Monica Bellucci? Alysa Milano? Maybe Amanda Peet?

I could see Gina Gershon, though I'm not sure how she is with stunts.

I remember watching Aeon Flux on Liquid Television so i was surprised to see the movie trailer, but ever since i saw Charlize in Monster i can't get the uglines out of my head, every time i see her i want to puke, so i will probably wait til its on DVD if i ever see it.

Don't forget Joe's Apartment also came from Liquid Television, that movie was actually funny.

I used to watch the shorts as well, but can't see a full-length feature holding my interest.

As for Charlize Theron, she's about 6' tall and not exactly hefty. Used to model. Had your eyes checked lately?
