Saw the new Harry Potter movie today.
No spoilers.

1) Much darker than previous movies
2) Hermione is Jail-Bait
3) Mike Gambon (Dumbledore) spends the movie working out which of 27 accents will work, and fails to reach a conclusion
4) Extremely enjoyable
5) Great CGI
6) Did I mention Hermione is jail-bait?
8) what happened to 7)?
9) Clever adaptation of a loooooong novel into 2 1/2 hrs
7) Ahh there it is!

Go see it

All of the Harry Potter movies are good. I took my 6 year old nephew to see the Prisone of Azkaban when it came out and he had nightmares. I am a horrible aunt. ;(
However, I througoughly enjoyed this new one as well.
(Ixnay on the ephewnay.
I like J.K Rowling as a writer. She can reach young and moderately old to old people.
I did notice the accent changes, lol, poor old guy. I just took it as a case of just "old age" kicking his ***.

loved all the movies, has anyone heard if they have contracted to make more? they cut out alot of stuff in the books that would be tie-ins for the next movie?

Yeah right, this is one of WB's biggest cash cows ever. I'm sure if anyone of the trio (the three playing Harry, Ron or Hermione) were to not make anymore movies, WB would sue the shit out of them.

I liked the movie. They did change quite a few things from the book for the movie though......

(no details I guess since it says "No Spoilers")

BOOK SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I just cant believe they left out the opening seen at the Dursleys house. The the ton tongue and getting trapped in the walls. Plus they left out the part with the mascots at the quidditch cup. It could have been so cool. Plus it would have helped to better explain why Ron shouted at Fluer when he was asked her out.

ok spoiler over.

Katie, you got any ideas on who RAB is yet? I wanted to check something, but I gave my books away. If you have yours, look in pheonix to where Sirius is showing harry the tapestry, see if there are any Blacks with an R first name.

Lubriderm, it's been a theory for quite some time that RAB is Sirius' brother Remulus, who was a close Death Eater to Voldemort until he turned traitor. The last what you call it (crucix?) is in the Black house. The kids find it while cleaning out the house in OotP.

Saw the movie on Friday and I thought it was great!! Cried my eyes out when Cedric died, just like when I read the book. Some old dude was sitting next to me and he was sniffling like crazy too.

Couple complaints I had that have to be excused for lack of time:

1. I thought the changing of the World Cup incident was terrible. It seemed 10x more terrifying than in the book and I didn't really find it necessary to up the violence there. I mean, a screaming terrified mob in a huge fire?

2. I didn't like that they didn't explain the spell at the end with Harry and Voldemort having similar wands.

3. I'd been looking forward to the questioning of Barty Jr. after the Tournament, but instead Snape pours an entire bottle of Veritaserum down his throat and they ask him like 3 questions. And then they don't show him dying!!

Other than that though, I was pretty happy to watch a version with no annoying *** House Elves. I'm glad they took out Hermione's campaign, whatever it was called.

Wow it moved fast!

There was some stuff left out that makes me wonder how it will be dealt with in future movies.

I still question Daniel Radcliff's acting ability.

It was a fun 2.5 hours. Smiley: grin

As for the movie, while they did cut a lot from the book out, stuff like the dragon I thought to be well done.

Jesus, pikko, why don't you tell everyone that Dumbledore dies at the end of year six, while you are at it?

Anyone who is addicted to the series, knows who has died in all the books, no reason to hide it anymore.

I enjoyed it immensely. I've been a serious science fiction/fantasy reader for as long as I can remember. Never read any of these books, but I've loved every movie.

On a related note, finally got to See Starwars III on Friday. Worst movie yet. I'd take Jar-Jar Binks anyday to that piece of shit movie.
