I'm tuggin' at my hair
I'm pullin' at my clothes
I'm tryin to keep my cool
I know it shows

I'm staring at my feet
My cheeks are turning red
I'm searching for the words inside my head

Cause I'm feeling nervous
Tryin' to be so perfect
Cause I know you're worth it
You're worth it--yeah

If I could say what I want to say
I'd say I want to blow you--away
Be with you every night
Am I squeezing you too tight
If I could say what I want to see
I want to see you go down--on one knee
Marry me today
Guess I'm wishing my life away
With these things I'll never say

It don't do me any good it's just a waste of time
What use is it to you what's on my mind
If it ain't comin out we're not going anywhere
So why can't I just tell you that I care

Cause I'm feeling nervous
Tryin' to be so perfect
Cause I know you're worth it, you're worth it yeah

If I could say what I want to say
I'd say I want to blow you--away
Be with you every night
Am I squeezing you too tight
If I could say what I want to see
I want to see you go down--on one knee
Marry me today
Guess I'm wishing my life away
With these things I'll never say

What's wrong with my tongue?
These words keep slipping away
I stutter I stumble like I've got nothing to say

Cause I'm feeling nervous
Trying to be so perfect
Cause I know you're worth it
You're worth it--yeah

I quess i'm wishing my life away
With these things I'll never say

If I could say what I want to say
I'd say I want to blow you--away
Be with you every night
Am I squeezing you too tight
If I could say what I want to see
I want to see you go down--on one knee
Marry me today
Guess I'm wishing my life away
With these things I'll never say

These things I'll never say

We've all seen a man at the liquor store beggin' for your change
The hair on his face is dirty, dread-locked, and full of mange
He asks the man for what he could spare, with shame in his eyes
"Get a job you fu[/u]cking slob," is all he replies
God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in his shoes
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to sing the blues

Then you really might know what it's like (what it;s like) 3x
Then you really might know what it's like

Mary got pregnant from a kid named Tom who said he was in love
He said, "Don't worry about a thing, baby doll
I'm the man you've been dreaming of."
But 3 months later he say he won't date her or return her calls
And she swears, "God damn, If find that man I'm cuttin' off his balls."
And then she heads for the clinic and
she gets some static walking through the door
They call her a killer, and they call her a sinner
and they call her a wh[/u]ore
God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in her shoes
'cause then you really might know what it's like to have to choose

Then you REALLY might know what its like (what its like) 3x
then you really might know what its like

I've seen a rich man beg
I've seen a good man sin
I've seen a tough man cry
I've seen a loser win
And a sad man grin
I've heard an honest man lie
I've seen the good side of bad
And the downside of up
And everything between
I've licked the silver spoon
Drank from the golden cup
And smoked the finest green
I've stroked the fattest dimes at least a couple of times
before I broke their heart
You know where it ends, yo, it usually depends on where you start

I knew this kid named Max
He used to get fat stacks out on the corner with drugs
He liked to hang out late
he liked to get sh[/u]it-faced and keep the pace with thugs
Until late one night there was a big gun fight and Max lost his head
He pulled out his chrome.45, talked some sh[/u]it, and wound up dead
Now his wife and his kids are caught in the midst of all of this pain
You know it crumbles that way
at least that's what they say when you play the game
God forbid you ever had to wake up to hear the news
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to lose

Then you really might know what it's like...
Then you really might know what it's like...
Then you really might know what it's like...to have the blues

Standing on the edge of the Palisades' Cliffs
In the shadow of the skyline {it seemed} very far away
Like a lightning rod that couldn't pull the storm from me
{When} I was 5 years old, my best friend's older brother died
He fell from these cliffs
{And} the river washed him away, the current pulled him downstream
And our lives float in the headlines, so we park these cars
{In our} parent's garage
{To} listen to the lullaby
Of carbon monoxide

War all of the time
In the shadow of the New York skyline
We grew up too fast, falling apart
Like the ashes of American flags
If the sun doesn't rise
We'll replace it with an H-bomb explosion
A painted jail cell of light in the sky
Like three-mile-island nightmares on TVs that sing us to sleep
They burn on and on like an oil field
Or a memory of what it felt like
To burn on and on and not just fade away
All those nights in the basement, the kids are still screaming
"On and on and on and on.................."

War all of the time
In the shadow of the New York skyline
We grew up too fast, falling apart
Like the ashes of American flags
And we're blowing in the wind
We don't know where to land
So we kiss like little kids
We used to be very tall buildings
We've been falling for so long
Now your eyes are a sign on the edge of town
They offer a welcome, when you are leaving

War all of the time
In the shadow of the New York skyline
We grew up too fast, falling apart
Like the ashes of American flags
{When} the pieces fall it's like a last day parade
And the fires in our streets start to rage,
So wave to those people who long to wave back
from the fabric of a flag that sang "love all of the time"

War all the time, war all the time
All of the time
War all the time, war all the time
All of the time
All of the time
War all of the time
War all of the time
War all of the time
War all of the time

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise

He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash

From my laboratory in the castle east
To the master bedroom where the vampires feast
The ghouls all came from their humble abodes
To catch a jolt from my electrodes

They did the mash
They did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They did the mash
It caught on in a flash
They did the mash
They did the monster mash

The zombies were having fun
The party had just begun
The guests included Wolf Man
Dracula and his son

The scene was rockin', all were digging the sounds
Eegore on chains, backed by his baying hounds
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, "The Crypt-Kicker Five"

They played the mash
They played the monster mash
The monster mash
And it was a graveyard smash
They played the mash
Its caught on in a flash
They played the mash
They played the monster mash

Out from his coffin, Drac's voice did ring
Seems he was troubled by just one thing
He opened the lid and shook his fist
And said, "Whatever happened to my Transylvania twist?"

It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash
The monster mash
It's now a graveyard smash
It's now the mash
It's caught on in a flash
It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash

Now everything's cool, Drac's a part of the band
And my monster mash is the hit of the land
For you, the living, this mash was meant too
When you get to my door, tell them Boris sent you

Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash
The monster mash
And do my graveyard smash
Then you can mash
You'll catch on in a flash
Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash

Thank you for coming home
I'm sorry that the chairs are all worn
I left them here I could have sworn
these are my salad days
slowly being eaten away
just another play for today
oh but I'm proud of you,but I'm proud of you
there's nothing left to make me feel small
luck has left me standing so tall
gold
always believe in your soul
you've got the power to know
you're indestructable
always believe in,because you are
gold
glad that you're bound to return
there's something I could have learned
you're indestructable,always believe in
after the rush has gone
I hope you find a little more time
remember we were partners in crime
it's only two years ago
the man with the suit and the pace
you know that he was there on the case
now he's in love with you,he's in love with you
love is like a high prison wall
but you could leave me standing so tall
gold
always believe in your soul
you've got the power to know
you're indestructable
always believe in,because you are
gold
glad that you're bound to return
there's something I could have learned
you're indestructable, always believe in

I'm in a constant state of getting cut
So why don't I feel anything?

This is a violation

Maybe I forgot what it was like
Before it entered me

So this is what they call
Another endless night
So tired of believing
If this is wrong or right
I think this cause is lost
I wish that I could sleep
I feel like some kind of shadow
Another slave to the week
Imagine if we lived
Under the weather
We would never be found
Never discovered
If everything goes wrong
If it's one more endless night
You'll know there's always tomorrow
And tomorrow...[to fade]
You'll know there's always tomorrow
(You'll know, you'll know) tomorrow

And this knife, this knife
This is my most, this is my most, this is my most important appendage
This is my most, this is my most, this is my most important appendage

Tomorrow

So now that your whole world
Has gone up into flames
This night is still never ending
Do you think you're still safe?
Seems everything went wrong
We were discovered
But this time there's no tomorrow
And tomorrow

Tomorrow
Tomorrow (And this knife, this knife)

Is this a thread about shi[/i]tty music?

Well then here is my contribution, and it is called ( "Things Get a Little Easier) Once You Understand."

("Things Get A little Easier) Once You Understand."

(Repeat this verse about 500 times.)

This piece of shi[/i]t actually charted in 1971 at #23, be sure to pay attention to the spoken melodrama voice overs in the song about parent-teen conflicts.

That is, of course, if you can make it all the way through, most people harm themselves or someone near them by that time, which I suppose is the cruel irony of this song. It was meant to stop people from kiling themselves, when in fact it probably drove a few people to their deaths.

If you were going to choose music to interrogate someone with, this shining **** of a song could get Zarqawi to sing like a canary.

Now you know why Quaaludes were so popular in the 70's .

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistle]

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistle]

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...

Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistle]

Life's a piece of sh[u][/u]it,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistle]

Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!

a man in my shoes runs a light
and all the papers lied tonight
but falling over you
is the news of the day
angels fall like rain
and love is all of heaven away

inside you the time moves
and she don't fade
the ghost in you
she don't fade
inside you the time moves
and she don't fade

a race is on i'm on your side
and hearing you my engines die
i'm in a mood for you
for running away
stars come down in you
and love...you can't give it away

inside you the time moves
and she don't fade
the ghost in you
she don't fade
inside you the time moves
and she don't fade

don't you go
it makes no sense
when all your talking supermen
just take away the time
and get in the way
ain't it just like rain
and love...is only heaven away

inside you the time moves
and she don't fade
the ghost in you
she don't fade
inside you the time moves
and she don't fade

Ground control to Major Tom Ground control to Major Tom:
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Ground control to Major Tom: Commencing countdown engine's on
Check ig-nition and may God's love be with you

This is ground control to Major Tom, you've really made the grade!
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear,
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

This is Major Tom to ground con-trol, I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in the most peculiar way
And the stars look very difeerent today

For here am I sitting in a tin can, far above the world
Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do

BRIDGE

Though I'm passed one hundred thousand miles, I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go,
tell my wife I love her very much she knows

Ground control to Major Tom:
Your circuit's dead, there's something wong.
Can you hear me Major Tom?
Can you hear me Major Tom?
Can you hear me Major Tom? Can you ...

Here am I floating round my tin can, far above the moon
Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do

Into the emptiness, I am numb.
In this life forsaken, I've become.
Tell the truth, is this real?
This pain inside begins to build.
Yeah, Oh...

Forget how I loved you, remember the strain.
I can't be here right now, nothis is the same.

Falling faster than before, can't think about
you anymore. No... oh....

Forget how I loved you, remember the strain.
I can't be heere right now, nothing is the same.

Into the emptiness, I am numb.
In this life forsaken, I've become....

I picked you out of a crowd and talked to you.
Said I liked your shoes,
You said thanks can I follow you?
So it's up the stairs, and out of view.
No prying eyes,
I poured some wine,
I asked your name you asked the time.

Now it's two o'clock,
The club is closed we're up the block.
Your hands on me
Pressing hard against your jeans,
Your tongue in my mouth
Trying to keep the words from coming out.
You didn't care to know
Who else may have been you before.

I want a lover I don't have to love,
I want a girl who's to sad to give a f[b][/b]uck.
Hey where's the kid with the chemicals?
I thought he said he'd meet me here but I'm not sure.
I got the money if you got the time.
You said it feels good,
I said I'll give it a try.

Then my mind went dark,
We both forgot where your car was parked.
Let's just take the train,
I'll meet up with the band in the morning.
Bad actors with bad habits.
Some sad singers,
They just play tragic.

And the phone's ringing,
And the band's leaving,
Let's just keep touching,
Let's just keep keep singing.

I want a lover I don't have to love,
I want a boy who's so drunk he doesn't talk.
Hey where's the kid with the chemicals?
I got a hunger and I can't seem to get full.
I need some meaning I can memorize,
The kind I have always seems to slip my mind.

But you, but you,
You write such pretty words.
But life's no story book,
Love is an excuse to get hurt,
And to hurt,
"Do you like to hurt?"
"I do! I do!"
"Then hurt me."

Then hurt me.
Then hurt me.

Brainstorm
take me away from the norm
I got to tell you something
this phenomenon
I had to put it in a song
and it goes like

Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally
you ought to know what brings me here
you glide through my head blind to fear
and I know why
whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally

Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally

You live too far away
your voice rings like a bell anyway
don't give up your independence
unless it feels so right
nothing good comes easily
sometimes you gotta fight

Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally
launched a thousand ships in my heart, so easy
still it's fine from afar, and you know that
whoa, brainstorm take me away from the norm
whoa, I got to tell you something

If you hate the taste of wine
Why do you drink it until you’re blind?
And if you swear that there’s no truth and who cares
How come you say it like you’re right?
Why are you scared to dream of god
When it’s salvation that you want?
You see stars that clear have been dead for years
But the idea just lives on

We are wheels that roll around
As we move over the ground
And all day it seems we’ve been in between the past and future town

We are nowhere, and it’s now
We are nowhere, and it’s now
You took a ten-minute dream in the passengers seat
While the world it was flying by
I haven’t been gone very long
But it feels like a lifetime

I’ve been sleeping so strange at night
Side effects they don’t advertise
I’ve been sleeping so strange
With a head full of pesticide

I got no plans and too much time
I feel to restless to unwind
I’m always lost in thought
As I walk a block to my favourite neon sign
Where the waitress looks concerned
But she never says a word
Just turns the jukebox on
And we hum along
And I smile back at her

And my friend comes after work
When the features start to blur
She says these bars are filled with things that kill
And you probably should have learned

Did you forget that yellow bird?
How could you forget that yellow bird?

She took a small silver wreathe and pinned it onto me
She said this one will bring you love
I don’t know if it’s true but I keep it for good luck
