because I fried my brain long ago with American TV and video games.

This is an IQ test given to job applicants in Japan.
Click on link then click on blue circle.
Use the rules below.

http://freeweb.siol.net/danej/riverIQGame.swf

The following rules apply:

1. Everybody has to cross the river
2. Only 2 persons on the raft at a time
3. The father cannot stay with any of the daughters without their mother's presence
4. The mother cannot stay with any of the sons without their father's presence
5. The thief (striped shirt) cannot stay with any family member if the Policeman is not there
6. Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft

**To start click on the big blue circle on the right.
***To move the people click on them. To move the raft click on the pole on the opposite side of the river

yeah the animations make it worth some of the frustration.

you'd think that with the cop right there, the child beating would be kept to a nil.

This is the same things as the one where you have a worm, a chicken, and a fox.. and you must get them to the otherside intact...

They give it to you in military assesments.

Ok, I did it.

I realize now that doesn't help you in the least, so I'm going to try and remember how.

Done. I've seen harder. Although, it's a bit easier with graphics than it is with paper.

I'm always stuck with 1 child, the cop and thief on the starting side. >.<

guess I'm not getting a job in the military or japan

It's not what you think joph.

See, the father (and the mother for that matter) has horrible hand-eye coordination. As they (the father and daughter) are standing alone on the side of the river, the EVIL LEAF OF DEATH starts falling towards his beloved daughter.

He tries to bat it away, but he misses and smacks his daughter right in the face, knocking her over and allowing the leaf to fall on her forehead. The father watches in horror as his daughter dies before him.

Next time think of the families before you go making your snide little comments...

Yeah? So leave the thief and have the cop take the kid over. Then he comes back for the thief.

It feels good not being the stupid one in the corner wondering why they can't get it while all the other kiddies can.

i know what u mean ^^ but i'm just saying that these are written in Chinese style of writing and everything, not Japanese at all so if u show them to a normal Japanese who's applying to some job position he/she won't understand a thing of it that's all.
