Go to www.yahoo.com, link to messenger is on the upper right. It has voice built in, you just have to have a microphone and speakers. Very fast download.

If you were going to be home, a mic isn't required. You can still hear everyone over the speakers, and just type into the chat. That's what I did last week. It also works if you're a big chicken and don't want to use a mic. It is also helpful if you want to get a word in edgewise.
