I've been working on me small block. It's a labor of love, but costs a shitload of money. Hence, it's a slow going process.

Today I will clean the mess I left in my garage. Smiley: lol

Finally got a babysitter last night and we actually got to go out for the first time on nine months.

We went to a place downtown called Kabobs. I had the chicken kabob and the wife had ravioli in a red pepper sauce.

I’ve never tasted chicken quite like it, after eating about half of it I actually had to stop eating because I was starting to feel sick. The wife’s food was even worse, it tasted like they took the red peppers and tossed them in a pan until they were burnt to hell and then added red food coloring to make it red again.

I asked the waitress why the cook hates chicken and ravioli so much but I think what I was saying to her went right over her head.

I paid the bill and we went to a piano bar for about an hour until the babysitter called and said our kid wouldn’t stop crying at which point we left the bar and walk to our truck to head home. Silly me, I didn’t look at the weather report and left my coat home so I got to walk to my truck in 45 degree weather….oh ya, it was poring rain at that point.

I took the babysitter home and then made a sandwich.

Meh

Fear not! In about 10 mins, the one you need a babysitter for, will be searching for his, or her, own babysitter.

You'll be a good candidate dad. Smiley: lol

I finally went and found replacement software that matches my Mini Disc Walk Man. I had been stuck with the same music for 5 months because I lost software. Just made 3 md's

1- Mars Volta Frances the Mute / Kanye West Late Registration

2- Best of Black Sabbath Disc 1 & 2

3- Pearl Jam Live at MTS Centre 09-08-2005

I needs me my music for walking to and from work, it's a 5km walk each way. That and I need a belt, all that walking means I no longer fit my pants or my pants no longer fit me, however you choose to look at it.

Yeah, thats one of my pet peeves. I HATE it when people are like "Ok are you ready to go to lunch? You're not bringing a coat?" FUCK NO I'm not bringing a coat, unlike you I'm not a pussy and I can stand a 10 second walk to my car in a light breeze.

Grr.

Saturday my hot water tank blowed up real gewd! So I spent the better part of my afternoon sourcing a new tank since the store I bought it from was not going to have stock until Thursday. Finally found a place 3 towns over, got the damn thing and set it up Sunday morning. At least it was replaced under warranty. Smiley: bah

Watched a little TiVo and went to live tv for a bit. Happily discovered one of my all time favorite movies was on, The Warriors - When I was a teenager, I saw this movie at the theater once a weekend for three weekends in a row. I loved this movie.

This movie was one of those character-defining movies for me, like Young Frankenstein. Young Frankenstein (like a lot of comedy films) instilled in me my sense of goofiness and enjoyment of all things silly. The Warriors instilled in me a sense of not taking crap from anyone (well, until I joined the military, heh).

At the time, I thought this was the baddest of badass movies. (C'mon, I was 15). With time, however, it's become one of my favorite all time cheesy movies. Sure, there are a few classic moments of badassness that's still awesome, but I think at this point cheesiness > badassness. A gang on rollerskates? In bluejean overalls? Gang fight in the men's room? I'm thinking they must have been a gang from the Chelsea district. Still, that was one of the funnest fights in the movie, right after the park fight with the baseball furies.

I would buy the new X-box game based on the movie, but I hear it's woefully short. So I'm gonna wait for it to hit Blockbuster and rent it. "Warriors...come out to plaaayyyy...."

Saturday
My niece and nephew wanted to take my wife and I (along with their parents) to see a noonish showing of the Wallace & Gromit movie at the Muvico Egyptian theater. Apparently, we should have re-checked the movie show times that morning. As it turned out, they weren't showing Wallace & Gromit anymore. So we had lunch at Chevy's instead.

I played a fun game of Civ 4. My leadership skills blow, but for my first game, I'm just happy I won. I forget who I was compared to on the leadership scale, but I was wayyyy down the list (but not at the bottom). I won by brute military force and economics (had the most money). This is about the extent of my knowledge in how to play this game.

Sunday
Played Dungeon Siege II - while the gameplay is sort of boring, the back story sounds interesting enough for me to keep at it.

Mowed the Lawn of Woe!! Hopefully the last mowing of the year.

Watched a bunch of TiVo recorded shows like CSI, CSI:NY, L&O:Criminal Intent, Harvey Birdman, Drawn Together and Family Guy.

Besides working Sat morning I did absolutely nothing and I relished it! I stayed in my pjs most of the weekend, I lounged in bed until the ungodly hour of 10, while husband and son played for hours before I got my lazy *** out of bed. I havent had a weekend like that in a very long time. The past couple months have been nonstop. So this was just what the Dr ordered for me

I turned 30 this weekend. My lady took to me to one of Gordon Ramsey's (not sure if you know who he is - very famous chef in the UK) restaurants. It was a lot nicer that Kabobs.
