Woman says she finds turtle in coffee

Link

AINSWORTH, Iowa A woman in Iowa says she got a jolt even before she made her Folgers coffee.

Marjorie Morris says when she went to pour the freeze-dried coffee into a canister last Sunday, she found a dead baby turtle.

Morris says she'd been making coffee from the same package for a month before discovering the turtle.

She says when she called a customer service line, she was told the turtle might have wound up in the coffee because of Hurricane Katrina. There's a major Folgers plant in New Orleans.

A spokeswoman for Procter and Gamble, which makes Folgers, says it's too early to say where the turtle came from.

Morris says she doesn't plan to sue.

I think more surprising than finding a dead baby turtle in your can of coffee is the fact that the woman is not planning on suing!! I thought we sued for everything in this country.

Jeez, she should at least sue for a lifetime supply of turtle-free coffee. The stress of it all!

Since P&G acknowledges it's a possibility she might even have a case. At any rate she should make a few bucks with an appearance on Good Morning America or something.

She might get more money out of not suing than actually suing. After all, like Xythex said, she'll be on TV programs and whatnot. In this day and age, it's a big rarity to see someone not sue!

If she sued, she's need it as evidence and then she'd miss out on the tounge inspiring delights that only a freeze-dried coffee flavored turtle can bring.

Oh, and I drink French Market Coffee with Chickory which is packaged in New Orleans. I keep buying it up in the store, convinced any day now I will no longer be able to buy it at all. Things are looking up down there sorta...so maybe the plant is operating. If so, maybe I shall find a turtle as well!

How did the turtle die? Was the poor amphibian dead before the freeze-drying from a massive caffeine overdose? Was the turtle alive and then freeze dried to death? Was the turtle alive in the bottle after freeze-drying and suffocated from the damn airtight seal? Was the turtle killed elsewhere in some shady conspiracy and dumped in the bottle on the theory that some bleary eyed coffee drinker would never notice it early in the morning? Will this spawn a CSI Veterinarian to solve all these mysteries?

Did anyone else hear organ music between each of those questions?
