For the love of Bob that sucked!

I was turning left onto the highway to head to work and after stopping at the blinking red light I proceeded to go. Out of nowhere I see this guy on a moped barreling towards my and runs smack dab into the side of my truck!

After the initial impact I felt a bump and I think "OMG!! I killed the dude!"

I stop, jump out of the truck and see him laying there screaming his leg hurts.

After the flurry of events I start trying to put it all into perspective and notice the moped had no lights, license or anything else for safety on the road and that was probably the reason I never saw him. The guy told me that his throttle stuck and he couldn't stop and ran into me and he was "Straight". (I guess that means ok but maybe one of you can confirm)

I called the police and then he gets up and starts walking his moped down the road...leaving! I tried to tell him to stay and that my insurance would cover and injuries but he insisted on leaving.

Thirty-Five minutes later the cops and fire trucks appear. (Speedy!)

I'm not at fault per the cop but what a ******* experience that was!!

I'm still shaken up.

thats pretty messed up. Any damage done to your vehicle? I would think that he left because with no lights/license, etc he knew he was fucked if the cops came, insurance wise. Besides, what the hell is a moped doing on a highway?

Straight = Copacetic
Or maybe he thought you were trying to pick him up and was trying to tell you he wasn't gay. It's difficult to say given the context.

I think by straight he meant he was either okay, or sober. But if he meant the first I'd doubt the latter. Was he an illegal immigrant? That may explain the quick escape.

Straight, in this context means "fine."

It's pretty common vernacular for OK in some circles, especially Southern poor (aka black) neighborhoods.

Count yourself lucky that he thought about things for a minute and remembered that he had some unresolved business of a legal and most probably petty, nature that made him not want to be there when the popo arrived. Otherwise, you'd probably get a lawsuit. You may still, if you filed a report, he gets his "problem" fixed, and the right scumsucking lawyer is asked about it.

We get workman's comp claims all the time that are perpetrated by the same type. They come in and have an accident within their first three weeks, usually shortly after they figure out they can't cut the mustard without working hard. The settlements range from almost nothing to 5 digits for these non-existant injuries. It's cheaper than going to court. Anyone that really wants to can nail one of these guys with a little private detective work, but there's no payoff in doing it. None at all.

I've never seen a moped running wild. I thought those things had to be on a leash.

You get the x4 multiplier if it is being driven by an immigrant or an old lady.

Technically, the moped tried to run HIM over. Of course, the driver didn't really think that one through.

His Go-go-gadget missles didn't fire. Instead his Go-go-gadget missle-toe fired, and he kissed Aegis's bumper.

It happens all the time.

You win if the person on the moped is an illegal immigrant pregnant old lady, who has blue hair, is a lesbian, and delivers cocain.

mopeds, scooters, motorcycles, its all the same. just another way to get rid of idiots.

BTW, is it illegal to run them over in your state? if so, you should really talk to your congressman. they have no support. dont burn enough gas, so oil lobbiest wont lobby for them, dont cost alot of money so auto lobbiest wont fight for them, not enough of them live to vote twice so politicians in general ignore them. really, why is it illegal to run them down again?
