I don't know how many of you follow this show, but last night's episode ended with one of the main characters getting shot...possibly killed (they do kill off mains sometimes). Next week, they're going back to the beginning of the show essentially, and focusing on the experiences of a different group of characters that the first group has just run into, so now I don't get to find out if the person who got shot last night actually dies for god knows how long!

My point: I have yet another reason to not be able to concentrate at work.

You're watching the first season...we're watching the second. So, alot. I would suggest not reading any more of this thread if you don't want some pretty major plot points ruined for you.

I was sorely disappointed with last night's episode. Normally I'm telling my husband to please kindly shut up, but this time when he started off his rant by saying that we could have just watched the last 10 minutes to understand everything, I had to agree.

I'm pretty sure Shannon is dead. The newspapers over here have all been talking about who dies etc etc and the death of a cast member has been rumored since last season or something. She got shot right in the chest, so I'm pretty sure there is no miracle Jack can perform on her.

Crappy first 50 minutes aside, I do think that this new conflict and "tribal merge" (haha little Survivorian slip) will make the show exciting again. I'm *really* looking forward to next week because at last this will give us some insight on these fookin' annoying *** "other survivors" and the others. About frickin' time too. The radio show I listen to did this whole show on getting people to call in to see if they've moved on from Lost in the three week break and if they're pissed about it and a lot of people are. And this is the show the set listens to! Maybe they'll wake up.

Also, another reason I think the show is slipping is because iirc JJ Abrams is off directing MI:3. Slacker needs to ditch them Cruises and get back to Lost!

I didn't hate the whole episode and was actually really pleased to get more backstory on Shannon. It definitely made me more sympathetic toward her. All the walking through the jungle and hearing noises crap was tiring though (it felt like I was watching the Blair Witch project, haha..."OMG, WHAT WAS THAT!? Oh, nothing...WHAT WAS THAT?! Oh, nothing"). The part with Walt freaked me right out though.

Sure must suck to be her. She just turned 21 and I know she's bought a house here on Oahu. The producers wouldn't tell the cast who died until the last minute. The guy who plays Jin asked if its ok for him to buy a house or if he's going to eat it and they wouldn't tell him. lol

I'd suspected it would be her because of the sudden shift of focus on her plus the fact that she did a movie over the summer. Career taking off maybe?

The backstory was good, but I don't like when all it does is lead you up to how they're acting in the present. I love the ones that bring a revelation like Walkabout did with Locke's paralysis.

I kind of figured she was the one to die this episode since they spent the whole episode with flashbacks of her life before the crash. She has not been the most appealing character of the bunch, though she did look good in a bikini.

The way the Walt character has been shown is interesting. I wonder whether he is dead and appears like jacks father did to him.

I am surprised they are still living at beach and waterfall, I would think a camp site built around the door to the hatch bunker would be best place to live now, with the others such a threat. They would have a fall back to the bunker should they get attacked, and of course they have all that firepower now.

Issues left hanging until the next episode or the one after that:
• What will happen to the unconscious sawyer?
• Is Shannon dead?
• What happened to the girl that disappears before they went up the cliff with the injured sawyer?
• What will Locke do about the drugs he now knows Charlie has?
• Why did they not show Evangeline Lily in this episode? She is so hot, yummy.

I completely agree Pikko. I was totally disappointed with last night's episode, except for Ian "Yummy Eyes" Somelhader's appearance in the flashbacks. Did the producers decide that for this this season, all the guys would have the weird-*** hairstyles in the flashbacks? First Jack, then Locke and now Boone all have crappiest hair.

I would like to see what happened to the Tailaways for the next episode, but ONLY IF it adds something to the overall plot of the show. Otherwise, they could have been doing flashbacks on the Tailaways all along.

I was going to add my usual episode summary to the Sandbox, but I'm losing interest in the show big time and unless good storylines pick up again, I'll be watching the show on my TiVo when I feel like it.

Edit: For those that are still into the show or want to catch up, Wikipedia has a great section dedicated to Lost and awesome episode summaries. That's where I've been getting my episode summaries for the Sandbox (revised of course). :D But the section also has a cross-reference to every character and timeline.

I understand that there was an Xbox commercial aired. Was it an exciting commercial or was it stupid?

Bunch of bouncing balls, I didn't realize it was for the Xbox 360 until the logo at the very end. Cutesy commercial, but wasn't like WOW, MUST BUY 360.
