I'm still wondering where the settings button to turn the damn things off is coming.
I'm not very fond of long text sigs and graphic sigs are even worse. Most of the time the a graphic sig will be larger than the post. On a thread 30 or so posts long, if most of the people have graphic sigs, it makes the thread not worth the effort to read.
I get really tired of looking for the posts hidden between the sigs. There are forums that I quit going to just for this specific reason.
I realise that these will be uniform and a slightly smaller than the really annoying ones, but I still find them to be visual spam.
Avatars are enough. If you feel that much need to promote your toon, make it 100x100 and put it in the avatar space.

The old Hide Avatar toggle now hides .sig images as well. So you have to throw out the baby with the bathwater but there ya go.
