Yes, but you still didn't tell us what you asked him. Japanese writing can have more than one meaning, depending on the context in which it's read.

I don't think that is a worm that Reeve is holding in his Avatar...

Oh ok. Didnt know what I asked mattered. I asked If the person loves me. So the posed question would be "Do you still love me?" So whats that make them saying? O.o; (and I wasnt talking about Reev's picture thingy, I was talking about the fuzzy worm one)

That one is Oscar from Sesame Street.

And Joph's not a fuzzy worm. He's an earwig

You may want to consider flirting with people who speak English in the future. It'll probably be more productive.

Yes, it makes a big difference. If one were to apply such context to the direct translation it would change the meaning. Basically the person is saying that they are like fish in a sense that the space between you is too big. I believe that the saying is similar to an old Japanese proverb, though I forget the exact wording ATM. And no, they don't love you, assuming that is all they wrote.

Oh well in that context it translates to "no".

The Japanese are a wordy people.

forget Japanese to English translation, you need a FFXI to Asylum translator. I would volunteer, but watching the ensuing chaos is just too much fun.
Also, never, ever talk about FFXI in the Aslyum if you value your rating.
Also also, I love Labyrinth, but those freaky eye stalk things stuck the wall used to terrify me.
