Happy Birthday Smoggy! I'm sorry to see you're spending it feeding the trolls though! Surely you have something better to do :D

Let them eat cake!

Gosh Neph, I'm a little surprised at your concern for my well-being. Unfortunately, your self-righteous, holier-than-thou indignation is greatly misplaced. Your assumptions are so off-target its hilarious.

You do realize the Allah website is gaming-based, right? I'm sure I'm not the only gaming hobbyist here. You assume that because I play games and watch television that I do so 24/7? That's laughable.

For your benefit, I'll try to enlighten you. We rarely watch tv and I consider myself quite a lucky guy that my wife and I both enjoy various common interests and, as it happens, gaming is one of them. BTW, we don't have kids yet, so I'm fairly certain we haven't done any harm in that regard. Thanks for assuming that we would neglect our kids. Classy.

We're getting TiVo because it's my birthday and I'd rather pick programs to watch that I can watch at my leisure as opposed to having to schedule my life around shows that I wouldn't normally make the time to watch.

I've accomplished more in my life than you can only dream about. But that's for me to concern myself with, not you. Maybe you should worry about yourself, your wife, your kid, your life.

Good for you then.

And I do.

Never saw Walker: Texas Ranger, but Allakhazam had some great flicks in his day.

Matlock and Murder, She Wrote ...oh Jessica Fletcher, how you torment me so with your saucy ways!

Happy Birthday Smoggy, Just remember it is all down hill from here on out, but at least it is one hell of a sled ride.

btw. I turned 31 on Halloween, finally achieving my vaunted golden birthday, or at least that is what my father said.

Just remember though: we don't need people who mean well, we need people who are well.

So that counts all of us out.

Now your talking. Golf rocks! Next Spring, we should have an Allah golf gathering. After everyone comes back from Boston, of course. Even if you are as bad at golf as I am, there's always beer to be had. Anyone else play golf?

Thanks to all the well-wishers! When we arrived home last night from work, I was happy to discover my new TiVo box sitting on our front porch. I activated my service online last night, but I'll be setting up the equipment tonight.

I'll finally get to record all the great Adult Swim shows and pretty much anything else worthwhile after 10pm.
