Here's a mind game for you. Try to figure out how much of your life (in days) you've spent playing video games and watching tv. Then think of what you got from all of that time and what you could have accomplished given a "redo". See if you can compare the amount of time you've spent playing with the time you've spent with your children/wife/family.
I'd suggest having a box of tissues waiting nearby.
And for Pete's sake...cancel the TiVo. Do you really need something that will help you to watch more?
Gosh Neph, I'm a little surprised at your concern for my well-being. Unfortunately, your self-righteous, holier-than-thou indignation is greatly misplaced. Your assumptions are so off-target its hilarious.
You do realize the Allah website is gaming-based, right? I'm sure I'm not the only gaming hobbyist here. You assume that because I play games and watch television that I do so 24/7? That's laughable.
For your benefit, I'll try to enlighten you. We rarely watch tv and I consider myself quite a lucky guy that my wife and I both enjoy various common interests and, as it happens, gaming is one of them. BTW, we don't have kids yet, so I'm fairly certain we haven't done any harm in that regard. Thanks for assuming that we would neglect our kids. Classy.
We're getting TiVo because it's my birthday and I'd rather pick programs to watch that I can watch at my leisure as opposed to having to schedule my life around shows that I wouldn't normally make the time to watch.
I've accomplished more in my life than you can only dream about. But that's for me to concern myself with, not you. Maybe you should worry about yourself, your wife, your kid, your life.
