For those of you that are perhaps unaware Mazra (aka Qaoz, Chakaz etc) is a troll/ratebotter/sock that flooded the Asylum with a torrent of uninteresting useless posts and ended up getting smacked down by the administrators of this site. Since that incident he has been laying low but has resurfaced on the World of Warcraft boards.

Now since he had been properly emasculated by the admins and thoroughly chastised I would normally be willing to let it slide and leave the guy in peace.

However, he has made a habit of wandering the WoW side of Allakhazams and giving out some truly **** poor advice. I have noticed in a number of thread on game play mechanics he has entered and given purely horrid advice and tried to do so from a position of authority in order to give creedance to the bull shit he spews.

An example, Yunoh started a thread asking for advice on warriors. Some truly good advice from some veteran warriors was given and then Mazra comes in and says '"Sword and Shield" is the best, I have a high level Warrior and dont listen to these guys' well in fact his highest warrior is lvl 20.

He has done the same handing out advice to high level Paladin advice when his Paladin is only lvl 44, though he usually initmates that his Paladin is lvl 60.

Not only is this sock going around handing out poor advice while claiming to be high level it seem that someone has made a habit of going back and rating up all his buried posts and trying to get him back towards scholar.

Anyways this is just a heads up to the community for those that havent been around for a couple years such as myself.

No you usually don't specifically say "I'm lvl 60" you do so in a more circumspect way by saying "from the high end game I can say" or "as a high level <insert class here>".

This is important to note because most of the people asking are new to the game, unawares of your history and are more than likely going to take you for your word once you intimate that you are in some way end game, when you are in fact not.

I don't believe I've ever used the words 'high level' about my own characters. My highest is only 59 so it would be very unwise of me to lie about my knowledge.. especially when I got my characters out on display in my very signature.

Why is it that most asylum posters think they are better then us non-asylum posters?

The few times i've been there, haven't seen anything that special.

Just alot of people that think they are important.

I don't really remember Mazra doing anything particularly horrendous.

And sometimes people give bad advice.

I've given advice without having an appropriately leveled character because I have experience with those who are and I read forums a lot. You can learn an amazing amount about stuff you have little personal experience with. I typically preferance those statement with disclaimers, however..."I've heard..." etc.

Mazra's post count is too high for me to be particularly worried about anyone botting him up to scholar.

But thanks for the heads up...I think?

Normally, when you call someone out, you offer more proof then your word. Now, show us some PROOF and maybe people will be more apt to believe what you said.

For a bunch of people that keep saying they don't care about karma, the asylum goer sure make a big deal about it ^_^.

Mazra gives advices... sometime they're good, sometime they're ad. Sometime I agree with him, sometime I get in verbal fight (see the bubblehearth thread ;p)... I really don't see that he is doing anything wrong.

In the warrior thread you mentionned, he said he 'challenged' the 2hander theory. There's nothing wrong with trying something different and seeing the end result for yourself.

I like Mazra - he usually has useful information. I could care less about what happend in the past on other forums; Mazra is a solid contributer to the WoW community here. How can you be a rate bot if you aren't scholor?

Arkie Arkie Arkie ...

Rate Bots are not your main account, you have other accounts that are scholar + to rate up the post of your main account.

You make a sock and get friends to rate it up and then go on a karma spree.

Common sense and watching the Aslyum will teach you such.

And yes, people do have way too much time on their hands.

Both of you suck at trolling, unfortunately. Have the Asylum standards really dropped so low?

Yes, I suppose so. Too bad, really, or I'd be tempted to actually return. Do try better next time, though, won't you?

To try to paint the picture of him in a more easy to understand light he is like the guy on the corner who tells the person asking for directions that they should turn left when they should actually turn right and then snickers to themselves afterwards.

He is an insidious troll, underhanded and not so blatantly obvious as the average one. He gives poor advice to new players and misdirects them. He has been smacked down by admins for it before.

Haven't been active on the Asylum board since, what, 2004?

Not since WoW came out anyways.

Stop being the Ghost of the Past, bodhisattva.

Sounds to me like there is only one troll in this thread.

Jesus, I just wish that all this Asylum BS would go back to the f'ing Asylum and leave us to the WoW chat. I am sick of stupid crap taking up the forum responses, and the true questions being left unanswered.

I still don't understand what it is about posting in the asylum that makes people think they are superior to others.

I hear alot of "I post in the asylum" and such.

It's just an OOT/unmoderated forum.

Big deal.

I have yet to see anything special about it, or the people that post there.

Jesus H. Christ.

So I'm from the asylum. Do you actually know what I am famous for in the Asylum? Outting trolls, bots, socks, that and arguing left wing tree hugging politics.

I outted Jroc and his rate botting ways, I outted Proof and got him banned, I help antagonize Nonlinear until he got himself banned.

I was almost crucified when I outted Abbay, a poster who ever 6 months would create a string of threads first how she was pregnant, then how she was happy, then how she had a still birth. People couldnt believe how "mean" I was until Kaolian tried investigating (in the hopes of nailing me to the wall I might add) the situation and found out that Abbay was in fact a troll.

Am a nice guy, you can bet your pants I am not, however that doesnt make what I am saying any less true.

we don't care - go troll elsewhere.

the only issue with this is Bodhi, you're known for posting just to stir up trouble... and you do flaunt your title(self proclaimed?) of troll quite often claiming to be one of the better ones...

so we have a post about the "good ol' days" that actually may have a kernel of truth to it?? So it would seem but why dredge it up?? what's the point... from what I've seen of Mazra's postings in this forum it's pretty straight-forward stuff.. it's like anyone's post.. an opinion on a topic, but sometimes he has good stuff.

in all honestly from what I've seen in the asylum I have a very difficult time taking anything the regulars there say with anything more than a grain of salt and 40 pounds of pure disbelief when they filter off to the rest of the boards.... sure it may be judgemental but you've done a good bit of trolling here yourself...

so what does it matter about "way back when" and why should we care?
