I’m all for taking the kids out trick or treating but why the hell would you take a 6 month old kid out and then come to my fucking door with a bag for the little half-breed?

Not only that they brought their run down beaten up van along straight outta the ghetto cause mom just can’t walk a city block.

What the hell are they going to do with candy anyway...they take candy trades for rock in the ghetto now?

I haven't purchased any candy for the little turdpokers. I'm hoping none show up, but if they do, I guess I'll hand out cans of Vienna sausage or maybe a handful of change.

"Here kid, go buy yourself...awww, who am I kidding? This won't buy ****. Go away."

Maybe she was hoping for Pixie Stix. It's pretty much the same thing.

Try living on a military base where the requirement to live here is you MUST have kids. So every year we buy 10 pounds of candy and we have maybe half a pound left after all is said and done.

The Base Captain did however put a rule down this year that trick-or-treating can only be done from dusk until 8:00 p.m. So hopefully we will have a military precision in the tricksters this year.

Am I the only one who had the family that didn't allow us kids to go trick or treating until we were old enough to walk ourselves from door to door, knock and say "trick or treat!" ourselves?

Yes, the babies are cute, but come on, they have no clue what's going on, and if you're old enough to be a parent, you're too old to be trick or treating. Accept it.

This was my son's first year of trick or treating. He had a blast. Last year, since he was just 2, we took him to one of those "trunk or treat" things that the churches have. He didn't know what it was all about anyway. Three is a good year to start Halloween for real.

I looked this up because I couldn't think of how "trunk" could possibly be a *good* thing for the kids. Apparently the "trunk" part is that people decorate their car and stand behind it and all the kids go though the parking lot and get candy.

(Apparently they play games, too).

LoL, yeah i am supprised to see that tonight too, but it was only once and it was a nice very young couple. i would put them low to mid 20s at max. very polite and not from the ghetto.

we had loads of fun in our neighborhood with 2 haunted houses in just a few blocks. one was the family directly across the street. they went all out and had a LINE 2-4 houses deep for most of the night to get in. was a blast. great work with smoke machines, sound effects (the guy is a audio mixer and makes good scratch) great visual effects too.

the other was a set of 3 families that put up a great haunted house graveyard area. live band, no fog machine, but had a walk through area that tied all 3 houses together. was a blast.

kids had a good time too. we went through 3 big bags of candy in under 1hr. lots of kids and plenty of good costumes too.

Well my son made a killing and we had a smaller amount of kids this year than normal. We had about 150 kids stop by from 5-7. I let him have a couple pieces of candy and he had a second wind, dancing on the lawn to daddys music and then crashed at 8.

I've taken him out trick or treating every year and my neighbors have been really cool about it. We have a lot of kids close in age so the first year as a baby its more to show off the costumes to each other. Also we had baby cookies ( num nums anyone?) for the infants. But by age 2 he knew what to do and although he was shy, he still would say trick or treat with prompting. This year at three he was a pro. He knew which houses he wanted to go to, ran up said trick or treat, and said thank you as he ran away. We stopped after cruising down one street, but he come home with a bucket overflowing with candy.

I of course had a mug of coffee with me, and all the parents commented that next year they would do the same. I think the parents were more tired this year than the kids. Smiley: laugh

i took my 3 year old nephew trick or treating (just got back in half hour ago) and he did the most embarassing thing...

there we are standing on this lady's porch, and he (only 3 years old) blurts out his "trick or treat" and then the lady offers the bowl of candy out to him. so he fills his little hands with all the candy he, and as i am helping put it in his pumpkin bucket, the lady turned and set the bowl of candy down on her hallway table.
well i guess the little bugger figured he was allowed more so he drops his bucket of candy and marches right into the lady's house to the candy bowl. then out of nowhere he gets really sick (im assuming from eating candy when he normally doesnt) and just projectiles in this lady's house. i was mortified.

so out of curiousity, what's the etiquette on that, do you offer to clean it, or apologize, get the kid and leave before they really get mad?

all in all though, this has been my worst halloween EVER.

no one should have to clean up someone elses vomit. Thats your job. What was he doing? Eating his candy in between houses? Poor little bugger though.

We got our first (and last) trick-or-treaters at about 7:30. It's pouring rain here, and we didn't have any candy, so we sent them packing.

My boy is only 6 months, so no trick-or-treating for him. His Halloween consisted of his mother and I dressing him up as Tigger, taking pictures and laughing our asses off for an hour at the ears, tail and puffy belly.

Poor kid...

Saw a lot of babies dressed up as lions this year, but what took the cake for me was a baby girl, maybe about a year old, dressed up in full snow white regalia, with tiara, zonked out in Daddy's arms while big sister trick-or-treated at our local mall.

All this talk of "tick or treating" makes me sad. I had to give up my youth early because people complained that I was too tall, and thus must be too old to trick or treat.

It just drizzled down south by us. Enough to dampen Spiderman's poly-batting muscles but not his candy begging spirit!

Did a couple of blocks, plus candy he had from Halloween at Disney and school and the sitter. He counted his swag and reported back that he had 144 pieces of candy he had to eat.

While passing out candy last night, I saw 7 little Napeleon Dynamites. None of whom where wearing moon boots. Needless to say , those little jerks got a package of sardines instead of candy.
