I'm not much for movies in general, but I have a particularly hard time with sports movies. I really like watching sports, live. No matter how theatrical the recreation, it isn't the real thing. And it isn't live.

Bull Durham was a pretty good flick, I did get chocked up watching Rocky, Hoop Dreams, Victory (the 1981 film the POW's playing the *****) and the Natural. I actually enjoyed Bend It Like Beckham. Seem them once, not much desire to see any again. Haven't seen a clasic. I've been told I should watch Hoosiers.

Probably the closest to classic is Hoop Dreams, and its a documentary. Saw it at UCSD on campus and, I kid you not, people were cheering for these kids to make shots.

However, I watch C-SPAN's book TV for fun so...I'm boring...your milage may vary

Does Rollerball (1975) count as a sports movie? I love that movie.
