Well, i was semi-rooting for houston, but it's not too big a deal to me. I was kinda hoping to see Biggio and Bagwell finally get their dues after sticking with the astros for so long.

But congratulations!

So was The Natural.

I wasn't even paying attention to baseball for this one. I knew the Sox were in it, but not who they were playing.

Baseball ends when Football begins. I am just glad the Yankess got knocked out earlier in the playoffs.

There's no crying in baseball.

If it wasn't for Tom Hanks, I would have agreed. A League of Their Own was a comedy, it wasn't meant to be some chessy piece of **** baseball epic like The Natural tried to be.

Well, as a Hosuton fan, I'd have to tell you no. It wasn't a baseball game, but more of an endless slaughter to everyone that cares about sports in Hosuton.

The Texans suck more di[/u]ck than an Oregon senator and the Astros really proved PP right in the assumption that they didn't belong there.

Since I could care less about NBA basketball, I'm going to just pretend like sports don't exist anymore. I was never interested in baseball anyways and I never will be again unless the Astros manage to win at least one game in the World Series. The likelihood of that happening can be impirically understood as "I will never pay attention to baseball again."

I'm not denying it was billed as a comedy. I'm denying it was funny.

With her and Rosie and Geena Davis, comedy is sure to ensue!

There's no crying in baseball. That part was funny. It is also , coincedently the only part I remember.

No crying in baseball...crazy Tom Hanks.

Did anyone ever tell you that you look like a ***** with a little hat on? ~ Hanks

See, how it works is, the train moves...not the station ~ Lovitz

Well, I'm off to give the wife a little pickle tickle and I'm on my way ~ Lovitz

...

I count three. Meh.

Anyway, 61 was one of the best baseball movies.

Edit: cause too many anyways spoil the pot

Wasn't Madonna in some movie where she got nailed in a parking garage?

I'm not sure what that has to do with anyhting but it came to mind. Major League was pretty good.

I actually really love Major League much more than I should, or would normally admit.

Yes smoggy that was.

Back on a baseball note, Bull Durham had to be one of the best baseball movies ever. Just one of my favorite excerpts (for those who don't know - Crash is a catcher played by Kevin Costner)

AS THE RUNNER BARRELS TOWARD THE PLATE -- Crash takes the throw.
THE RUNNER SLIDES -- Crash blocks the plate. A cloud of dust. A close play.

THE UMPIRE SIGNALS "SAFE" -- And Crash flips out. In a second he is nose to nose with the UMPIRE.

CRASH - I got him on the knee!

UMPIRE - You missed him!

CRASH - God damn It, Jack, he still ain't touched the plate.

THEIR FACES ARE INCHES APART -- Screaming face to face.

UMPIRE - Don't bump me.

CRASH - It was a cok'sucking call!

UMPIRE - Did you call me a cok'sucker?

CRASH - No! I said It was a cok-sucking call and you can't run me for that!

UMPIRE - You missed the tag!

CRASH - You spit on me!

UMPIRE - I didn't spit on you!

CRASH - You're in the wrong business, Jack--you're Sears-Roebuck material!

UMPIRE - You're close, Crash, you want me to run you? I'll run you!

CRASH - You want me to call you a cok'sucker?!

UMPIRE - Try it! Go ahead. Call me a cok'sucker!

CRASH - Beg me!

UMPIRE - Call me a cok'sucker and you're outta here!

CRASH - Beg me again!

UMPIRE - Call me a cok'sucker and you're outta here!

CRASH - You're a cok'sucker!

UMPIRE - You're outta here!

THE UMP THEATRICALLY THROWS CRASH out of the game.

ANNIE AND MILLIE STARE at the radio.

TEDDY ON THE RADIO
...I've never seen Crash so angry and frankly, Bull fans, he used a certain word that's a "no-no" with umpires...

MILLIE
Crash musta called the guy a cok'sucker

ANNIE
God, he's so romantic...

OMG - It's so funny I am crying. Need to go pop that movie in the DVD right now.
