I work for the NHS and part of a campaign called 'Smoke Free Homes.' Although I agree with Smoking bans in establishments that serve food, I disagree with ministers and goody-two-shoes that want an all out blanket ban in all clubs and bars.
'Smoke Free Homes' main concern is Children in the households of smokers, all well and good saying 'they should stop then,' it is not going to happen. Children are far more prone to secondary smoke then adults. If you are a smoker or have ever smoked I am sure you can all agree that alcohol makes the craving 10 times worse, this may force adults not only to smoke at home but to drink at home, this in turn will lead to far more deep rooting problems.
The way the ban is now is perfect, and those complaining on either side are self centered and not thinking straight, This is a good mid-way settlement.
