Or you could join the rest of the fashion suicides and wear your flip-flops with socks.

Never! All the jocks at my College did that. Smiley: oyvey
Seems just a little too dirt bagish.

It is durrently 37 in Cinci and I am still wearing my shorts and birks.

I usually switch to long pants if it drops below 0 and switch to shoes when the snow gets to be about ankle high.

Maybe you a just a pussy

yes but I was talking abouyt the sane people who dress appropriatly for their surrounding climate. Unless you've got your heat up to 85 and don't leave the house, you don't count.

Fuck that. If I had it my way, I would still have the AC on. I like keeping my place at about 65. The ole ball and chain turned the heat on, cause she is a delicate southern flower that can't stand the cold.

People that boast about being able to wear shorts and sandals well into the winter bore me. So you're setting yourself up for major arthritis and joint pain in later life--Bully you, you risk-taker. Smiley: lol

In order to save on oil prices our house is being kept in the 55-60 range.

A old saying I used to go by when back in the College days:

In terms of Summer and Winter Utilities costs, You can always get warmer but never colder. Hence stock up on warm clothes and blankets and save the utility funds for the AC come summer.

AC? Whats that?

As for getting warmer, I disagree. I've never found it hard to get cool in the summer. In the winter though, my feet are the first to get cold, and if my feet are cold the rest of me is.

Here's a good exple: Right now, I am in long johns, socks, slippers, wifebeater tanktop. long sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, and Im still cold. Summer all I have to do to stay cool is to take a cool shower and Im good for awhile

DSD: It isn't to save on utilities.. we get those for free. I just don't like being hot, and anything about 70 isn't very comfortable for me.

55-60? Christ, for that I could go back to living in a cave and eating mammoths*

I scaled the heat back to about 67 and use a couple space heaters in the colder areas of the house. The family room is a converted garage and not as well insulated as the rest of the home but there's no reason to crank the gas heat up to 75 just to keep one room comfortable. Speaking of, I need to look into finding a better way to weather strip the back door as well. I did get my windows placed into the screen door at least.

*Meant in a general history of man sense. I personally have never lived in a cave, nor eaten a mammoth. I did get an elephant ear at a carnival once though.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and chalking it up to Cin-city being waaaay behind on the fashion trends.

But seriously....birkenstocks? I could see with a crisp pair of Z Cavaricci overalls and a nice Stussy sleeve-less shirt. Perhaps a shiny gold chain to accentuate the single earing in the right ear and your flat-top?

The first time I was on my own I lived in a small Studio Apartment. I did not have to pay utilities. It was an old Victorian house subletted into several small apartments. The heat in my apartment did not work because the radiators were old as dirt and I did not have a thermostat. My neighbor controlled the temperature of the 4 upstairs apartments. Smiley: oyvey

It was not uncommon for it to drop below 55 on cold nights so I heated my house with the oven. Cranked it to 450 and opened the door. Talk about a fire hazard.
