On Sunday, we generally sleep in. All of us making our trips to the coffee pot, each taking our share of lifes' nectar. Eventually, we become coherent enough to actually form words.

So I ask my daughter where she was last nite, (Saturday nite) and she replies, "I was visiting a prison, in Philadelphia."

Now when you're a dad, these are words you don't want to ever hear come out of your daughter, no matter what her age. Smiley: lol

Turns out, there's this old abandoned prison in Philadelphia where you can take a guided halloween tour through the prison. This is the place where they held Al Capone for a time. I was, and still am pissed at her for not taking me along. I may have to ground her ***!

One day, I will take some time off and schedule a daytime tour. Places like that, interest the **** outta me.

Old prison memories of a shower room, some soap, and a seemingly bad spur-of-the-moment idea, Weebs?

And by "Tried to run" you mean "Pranced around and acted like a damsel in distress"? Smiley: lol

I saw that on the Discovery Channel awhile back. Its supposed to be a very active place for ghosts and the like. Id ground her if I was you, you missed out on some cool stuff.

Maybe she was just lying to you and did something a little less irresponsible.... like going out and having sex with three guys and no condom in sight for fity miles.

Sure, it's irresponsible, but at least she didn't forget to take her pappy to a haunted jail Smiley: wink2

When I read that, my first thought is that she was dating a convict. Now that's a grounding offense.

Hah, I'd have to ground her for making me nearly choke to death on whatever I was eating when she said that.

How old is your daughter Weebs?

And I'm not asking that in a creepy, internet stalker/scary uncle sort of way, just honest curiosity.

As corny as it may be, I always loved to go out to Alcatraz. It really is a cool place. it would be cooler if they opened up more of it to the general public.

Alcatraz is crumbling, and there's an ongoing debate about whether it could/should be fixed for tourism or allowed to rot away entirely.

It is a neat tour, though, if a bit tantalizing.

Good tour also is the Winchester House out in San Jose, Cali. Winchester Widow had the house continually built/added on/constructed. Supposedly haunted, but I didn't see anything when I took the tour. But it's just weird seeing doors and stairways that lead to nowhere.

She's just turned 21.

I know what's coming, the whole "grandfather" thing in the next few years. I dunno why, I think I am looking forward to it.

I cant wait to teach my grandkids the proper way to belch. I'll be a young grandpa.

There are some advantages to getting married at 17. Smiley: lol

For some reason, that song:

"Hi, Dad. I'm in jail!"

keeps running through my head with this thread.

Wow! this place looks cool.

They just tore down our old state prison - and it could have been put to such good use.
