Start off easy, I have seen many new kids get hurt through improper preparation. Have some lubrication nearby and if you can, "lube up" a little before the ACT takes place.

Be sure to wear loose fitting clothes and sneakers. The clothes for easy access and the sneakers just in case you get caught in the ACT and have to run.

At any rate best of luck to you. And realize that it does get easier.

Don't pass out or fall asleep in the middle of the ACT. That could be embarassing.

dont try to go back and finsish sections. also do not start sections ahead of time. sounds stupid, but sometimes even really smart students dont follow this rule and end up getting kicked out.

Just do it. It's really not much worth losing sleep over. Get a good night's rest and eat breakfast, and you should be fine.

Advice? If you don't know the answer to a question, move on. It's better to answer as many questions as you know than to get stuck on one question that you blank on.

And if you can't find the answer, don't guess. Wrong answers deduct points (or is that just AP tests?).

DONT SECOND GUESS YOURSELF! Go with your first guess if you dont know the answer for sure. Your first guess is almost always the correct answer. Dont panic, if you dont know an answer, go on to the next question. If you have time left over at the end go back for the ones you didnt know. Eat a decent breakfast before hand. You'll do great of course.

Speaking of guessing, I'm reminded of my high school senior year calculus final. It was multiple choice (ScanTron) and, by question #3, I realized I had no clue. So I took my second pencil and wrote on the sides A-E and "Roll Again" on side #6. I then rolled the pencil up my desk for each question, let it roll back down, stopped it, and the upward facing letter was my answer.

I was stopped in the hallway the next day by the teacher who congratulated me on getting one of the top scores in the class.
