To download my stricty legal and non-copyright infringed songs, I always used WinMX...but now there is no WinMX and I am at a loss. What do other folks here use?

Nexa, Bittorrnet is great if you're looking for video files. I haven't really bothered with it while looking for audio files, since I usually just buy CDs when I want them, or I borrow them.

But yeah, I use Bittorrent for gifts for my sister and wife (They're very deeply in love with anime.) and I used it to download FF Advent Children. It's a decent program.

Actually if you're going for a .torrent application, I'd get Azureus.

The rare occassions I download stuff, I use Limewire but that's just because I haven't had a pressing reason to use anything else. I can't sing its praises but it finds my songs and puts them on my computer and didn't infest it with cooties.

Before I download anything, would any of those programs help me find a 'perfectly legal' copy of photoshop and msoffice?

For digital back up purposes.

I linked the site I did because on the right it shows the current users on each P2P network. On the left it gives you links and instructions for each software. Right now the eMule/eDonkey newtwork is the most popular, followed by Kazaa/Kazaalite then Gnutella(Limewire).

By simple calculations, if you want to get the better chance to get what you want, then you go where the files are.

I would recommend staying away from the torrenmt network as that is where the most 'busts' have been occuring in the industry lately.

I would suggest as well that you keep that site in your bookmarks as it always have up-to-date news on the industry so you can be educated as opposed to guessing.

Using any of the less-populate networks just doesn't make sense.

Honestly, you could probably find just about anything in a .torrent file if you do some searching.

The perfect quote ties me to both you and Nirvana...I challenge anyone to come up with something more perfect!

PP won, I got Soulseek. Like I was going to wait for options to make a decision, I needed to listen to a particular song right this instant.

I heart instant gratification!

Bittorrent works for *anything*.

I find http://www.torrentspy.com/ to be a good site for finding torrents. Has most everything you'll want.

Less clients for me to download when the one I have works fine.

Really, I'm not trying to challenge your knowledge on the topic. For me, Limewire works because I already feel comfortable with it and I only rarely download. When I do, it's never anything all that obscure so I've never had trouble finding what I wanted.

As I said, I use it because I've yet to have a pressing reason to change.

Limewire is the #3 network in the world is is most popular in the teen-20's music scene. I think you will be just fine with that selection. If you find you are having a hard time locating something, get kazaalite with the accelerator tool and you will probably find it. eMule is 100% best if you like to get movies.

Just sayin' Smiley: wink2

If you like more eclectic music, you can't beat Soulseek.
