When you want breaking news, turn to The San Francisco Gate!

Apparently I missed the story on the Chicago Tribune site because it was buried beneath some hurricane story and a dozen fluff pieces about the White Sox, the history of the White Sox, security fot the White Sox, anagrams of the words "Chicago White Sox" (A wight ox's choice), how Cubs fans feel about the White Sox, something about a shooting in Chicago and a bit about some local baseball team that I guess did well this year.

I hear ya. All I found on CNN and FoxNews was Thousands of TOURISTS take shelter from Wilma.

Its good to see that we only give a flying fuck about the tourists.

Yes I know the areas hit are the touristy areas.

I liked Dog Bites, but I also like Carroll. Of course I like Mark Morford too, and he's out of his fucking mind - although he may be onto something with his idea for iPod ****.

Apple being Apple, this advance has been hailed as either the Second Coming of television, the Innovation That Will Change Everything, or it's a resounding thud, largely overhyped, a remains-to-be-seen micro-advance in excessive gizmo fetishism that most people beyond Tivo-addicted media fanatics won't care much about because, after all, who the hell wants to pay for some old show you can only watch on a tiny 2.5-inch screen? Isn't that why God invented 100-inch plasma TVs and cheap DVD players and laziness and beer? Damn right.

That owns. Smiley: laugh

But I think he's talking about an industry of reformatting existing **** for the iPod, and providing the means to download it in... byte sized pieces?... as is being done for more mainstream entertainment.
