We Get A Last Minute Invite to Halloween Party...Follow

So my brother calls me up last night inviting my wife and I to a Halloween party (costumes optional).

We have tonight and tomorrow 'til about noon Saturday to figure out a costume.

We're thinking some kind of couple theme. (Hey, we're old and boring, so what the hell...)

My wife suggested Superman and Supergirl (Although not thrilled to the idea of ME wearing tights, the idea of my wife in tights and a blonde wig definitely has an allure.)

I'll do a google to look at costumes (closest shop is one of those Spirit stores.)

Suggestions? Please keep in mind the suggestions can't be dirty, as kids are gonna be there.

She dresses in a bath towel and hairtowel (or robe) You go as a bar of soap or a rubber ducky. One costume is quick and easy the other may take a little more time.

Awesome idea! Unfortunately, it's getting a little cold over here now. As much as I'd love for her to not be wearing much, I don't want her to catch cold/pneumonia.

They should make Halloween in the summer, when skimpy outfits would really work!

BTW, Whoo hoo! 700 posts now! Smiley: yippee At my posting rate, I should hit 5000 in another 10 years.

I saw a picture of that somewhere. Pretty original if people can figure it out.

It might have been the same website where there's this guy walking around at a party with a sheep attached to him - first thing I thought of was Aegis and his sensitive love for goats.

I'm telling you, I went as Tinkerbell, the SO at the time as Peter Pan. Cheap, easy, and funny. I still to this day have people talking about it, 3 yrs later. I've even met girls that asked "Weren't you the guy that went as Tinkerbell?" years later.

The Peter costume you can buy cheap. I bought the components for tinkerbell at WalMart the night before for like $20.

Nephthys, dat you?

I'm thinking the severe mental and eye trauma that me in tights would inflict would go down in history as one of the most horrific crimes to humanity.

Rocky and Bullwinkle. Tarzan and Jane. The classy, hard-drinking Nick and Nora from the "Thin Man" movies. Sam Spade and a cheap floozy.

Ahh Samira, a fellow classic film buff. Nice choices. Now I just have to convince my wife to play Sam Spade...Smiley: tongue

OK so I saw this costume the other day and it is perfect. The sexual innuendo is awesome. You go as a plug and socket.

I once went as a matador after finding the best short, red, black & gold Michael Jackson lookin' jacket at a thrift shop. I still own the jacket and it's not as if tall white socks are in short supply so all I'd need to resurrect it would be some red tights, maybe sew on some gold trim, a puffy white shirt and one of those nifty hats.

I'm not so sure the world wants to see my package in those red tights, though.

I'd do it for the hat alone. The hard part would be faking cigarette smoke, if she doesn't smoke unfiltered cigarettes.

Yeah, after posting it I remembered seeing his fairy costume pic. I know I jumped the gun on teasing Neph, but come on - how often do I get an opportunity to post a link to that dude's website? Comedy gold!

Fedoras on females rock. Women look awesome in any hats usually, but those 1930's and 1940's hats for women were awesome. It's a shame they're not in style today.

Happy to say neither of us smoke. The pirate's costumes are a bit pricey too (well, the female one is) - we're gonna have to find something where both costumes are under $50.

These 2 costumes are great and the kids will love them. What kids don't like animals as costumes?

Smiley: yikes Smiley: lol

That might be a bit too chilly for us here. We decided to go as a medieval knight and princess. This way, I can say rrrrroleplaying words like rrrrrribaldry and um, stuff.

I also got a longsword and shield. Pictures will be posted at some point for everyone's amusement and mockery.

The store had this wicked fake Hammer that would be great to have if I went as a Dwarf. However, the thought of putting on one of those fake beards just wouldn't be all that appealing as I just know it would uncomfortable to wear. I'll just grow one for next year. Smiley: tongue

Just go as a cleric instead of a knight and you can use the hammer.

Mulder and Scully, and you can just wear suits and intense looks. Maybe a red wig for the wife.

I was invited to a Halloween party recently, but I turned it down. I can't summon up the entuhusiasm for dressing up anymore, since I know the evening will be spent in mindless small talk among other working professionals. If I'm gonna dress up, I should do something fun. Unfortunately with the Zero Tolerance law still in effect in the city, my best bet is to stay at home and watch a scary movie with the SO.
